To be blunt, today didn’t go the way it should have, and we’re working with our partners to make it better going forward.
I wish we could get in everyone who wants to compete. The reality is, even if everything had gone perfectly, demand still would have (far) outpaced supply by nearly 5 times. That’s going to continue to be a challenge for future events.
We’re building something new for us with these events and trying to grow it responsibly. We’ve been pushing up event capacity and we’re going to keep doing that as long as we can still deliver a great competitor and attendee experience. We’re working on dialing in everything from round times, judge training, and more to make sure we can accommodate even bigger events. We’ll also continue to add non-competitor badges to bring in more of the community. We’ve got work to do.
Lastly, we see the concerns about reselling. We don’t have a handle on how big a problem it is, but we do have measures in place to prevent reselling. If someone offers to sell you a tournament badge, please DO NOT BUY IT. If your name doesn’t match the name on the order, you’ll be denied entry. We’re looking hard at how to crack down on it even further, and how we scale up access without compromising the event itself.
This isn’t solved yet, but the team is all-in to get this right.

As we shared earlier, today’s Regional Qualifier ticketing launch didn't meet the standard we set for ourselves or the experience we want for the Riftbound community. Here is a bit more about what we’re doing to improve this as we go forward:
