Does anyone know an OT who works specifically in homelessness or a support service for folks who are homeless? Looking for a contact

I'll be honest, with everything going on in the world, I have struggled to find the #Gratitude over the last 6 weeks. Then an early morning walk on a crisp autumn morning helped with that.

Around the world, the right to seek asylum continues to be threatened and attacked. Let us be clear - no matter who you are, seeking asylum is a human right. Today, and every day.

Don't get me wrong, we have a LONG way to go as a society to better fit needs. But, if action starts with understanding, we are making amazing progress. Or at very least raising public awareness. That's got to be good, right? 3/3

In my lifetime, we have gone from *mostly* ignoring to publicly discussing: disability, mental health, neurodiversity, sexuality, gender... 2/3

A bit more abstract, but, today's #Gratitude post is for how much more public discourse we have about the issues people face 1/3

A fantastic presentation from Helen Jennings, RCOT Pain clinical form lead this morning at the #occupationaltherapy & #substanceuse network. Looking at commonalities between #pain & #addiction. #Compassion, #holistic care & seeing the person, hearing the story.

And here how it looks in July! Not sure I am ready to add Horti-therapist to my CV but I has been a great experience so far. Have even harvested some radishes and peas! (3/3)

I have never met a librarian who wasn't incredibly helpful, and I have watched them display endless patience with rowdy kids and those unfamiliar with technology. Yay for libraries! 3/3

85% of the books I read are borrowed from the library, who order in what I am looking for if they don't have it. I take patients to their local branch to use Internet, borrow books, or just show them somewhere warm & safe & calm when they are fed up in their accommodation. 2/3

The sun is shining and I am feeling positive, so thought I would start an occasional series of gratitude tweets: Glasgow has one of the most excellent library systems I have ever encountered. 📚 1/3
