I get it, it’s hard to comprehend, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t doing it. Largely the youth.
I’ve never DoorDashed in my life, yet DoorDash’s annual revenue is $14b+.
My husband manages a major retail store in the Southeast. The kids he has working for him order DoorDash for lunch every day. This has remained true across multiple locations. Blows our minds.

Yes, $28 is an extreme example and making your own will always be cheaper, but inflation is outpacing wages 2-3x. Nitpicking what they spend money on is a red herring

I had a woman come in a few wks ago and buy 5 “blind dates with a book.” Assuming she was stocking up on gifts, I said something to that effect, “oh no,” she replied, “these are for me. Whenever I’m feeling low I treat myself and open one.”

Another iPad alternative is the Yoto player - audiobooks, podcasts, and music for kids. They also have an amazing BBC-style daily news report! Strong recommend.
