update on this: i went because i had headaches and a runny nose. he chalked it up to anxiety. turns out they had left a piece of my wisdom tooth when i got it removed and it moved all the way up to my cheekbones and has been creating pressure in my sinuses.

i do think gamergate was significant not in the sense that it heralded trump or the alt-right (it didn't) but that it hobbled the unity of Gamers against predatory business practices so theyve been able to Games-As-A-Serviceify the industry with battle passes to little fanfare
