The team at Woolacombe have been giving the hedgerows on Woolacombe Down some TLC. Hedgerows are vital for our rural landscape but have been in decline. Restoring them helps provide shelter, food & safe corridors for wildlife 🐦🦋🦔

This August, our volunteers have been planting wetland plug plants around the edges of the restored floodplain at Tattiscombe on West Exmoor. They added marsh-loving species from ragged robin to yellow flag iris, all vital for supporting insects and larger wildlife.

The Hartland volunteer team have been working hard in the heat at Brownsham, rerouting and widening part of the coast path to make it easier and more enjoyable to walk🌞 Right now, the corn marigolds in the field margins are also brightening up the trail for anyone out walking.

Volunteers & Ellie from @savebutterflies have been creating coppiced glades on the slopes of Heddon Valley, allowing for more light to reach the ground. This helps bracken & dog violets to spread and link up, creating vital habitat for the #HighBrownFritillary. 🦋
