On this day in 1997, @OCSmusic released the compilation album, B-sides, Seasides and Freerides. Its their B-sides compilation of material from the Moseley Shoals era which reached number 4 in the UK album charts. A wonderful collection including some rare acoustic & live song!

@JayneMoobs One time I had two people from a hotel looking for a mysterious buzzing sound that was plaguing my room. We eventually tracked it down to my suitcase, was my electric toothbrush. Beamer.

Just got to a hotel & the owner showed us into our room. Walked in and Belle & Sebastian was playing, I was delighted & joked how it was my favourite and had he arranged it especially? He looked very confused, he left & I realised the music was playing on my phone in my pocket 🤣

@PaulHeatonSolo Dundee Dance Factory (Fat Sam’s) for me, I remember and absolutely butter got thrown out and they shut the front doors to keep him out and the “lucky bags” merch, inc signed badges if I recall. ❤️

@nee_massey That Newcastle show was the first night out my wife and I had together after she gave birth to our son Myles in the Sept of 2005. ❤️ We bought matching T-shirts to celebrate.

In 2006 we started what was to be a long tour. It took a few gigs to get the wind up, I was struggling with the shape of the set. By about the fifth night in Newcastle it started to flow. I was so relieved I got Iain (production) to laminate the set and I wore it round my neck😊

30 years ago tonight Ocean Colour Scene went out on a tour of small UK venues. Barely anyone would’ve known them, by the end of the tour they were a household name and had provided the walk-on music for every TFI Friday guest. Funny how fortunes can change so fast. Who went?
