Bike Twitter, If i want a Safe Ride to School grant, who can organize this? I have a corridor that has 9 schools within 2k ft. Ends at a park and ends at a school. I know that cost has to be fronted too... oof.

Whats the point of having a retractable roof if you keep it closed on a day like today?

The W. Gray project was funded by HSIP - a bicyclist was killed near Shephard a couple of years ago. The design included a bike lane because it has excess capacity and drivers speed. But Whitmire votes no and takes the dough - turned it into another repaving project.

Road construction gives us an opportunity to see what roads would look like if they were smaller. The construction on West Gray Street has me convinced that we could comfortably road diet it without causing much gridlock at all. And it is so much easier to cross on foot and Bike

I was walking along Montrose Blvd this afternoon and it hit me that they’re spending a ton of money to prevent future business development because there won’t be any additional foot traffic along the corridor than what is present today

Well done, Council Member! I commended you in a tweet earlier this week but didn’t know you were on here to be able to tag you 😂. Thank you for taking a stand, and for bringing the community together on such an important issue.

I just find it so interesting that Alejandra Salinas has been on Houston City Council all of three months and she’s done more to protect the Hispanic and immigrant community than Julian Ramirez, Mario Castillo, and Joaquin Martinez have done in three years.

the reason that raised crosswalk was installed by Mayor Turner is because someone died there and was a hot spot in the high injury network. Her justification completely ignores the facts as Mayor Whitmire prioritizes traffic flow over the death of vulnerable road users.
WalkandRollHouston@walkrollhouston

We are rarely at a loss for words but this "explanation" from Gafrick is garbage. No facts provided. This raised crosswalk has been in place for 2 years. None of the streets in this area are alternatives to Westheimer. Lying to Houstonians is disrespectful.
