New school, new year, new AVID initiative! One of our goals this year at Northview Middle School is to take AVID binders schoolwide. To make sure that all students are set up for success, we started a Donors Choose project to provide binder kits to students in financial need.

This week, Northview had the rare privilege of sending 13 educators to AVID Summer Institute 2024 in Tampa, Florida. After 3 days of AVID training and collaboration at Site Team meetings, the NV Team is so excited to bring new strategies and systems back to our staff & students!

Blessed to have been nominated as teacher of the year for Northview Middle School. Today, like everyday, is a GREAT day to be a Falcon!

We also welcomed our first AVID cohort to begin in the new Northview Middle School building. The locations change, but the tradition of AVID excellence stays the same!!

As one chapter ends, another begins! This week, we graduated our last AVID cohort from our current Northview Middle School building. We know they will continue to make us proud at North Central High School!

So many AVID & AVID Excel students were recognized this evening for their academic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments, as well as their contributions to the school community. So proud of this group and their leadership at Northview over these past 3 years!!

There is no greater testament to the AVID excellence at Northview Middle School than our annual 8th Grade Awards Ceremony!

Students heard from Corteva employees about their careers and also learned about the variety of career fields - science, technology, automation & robotics, business, marketing, art, communication, etc. - that merge to make a global company like Corteva function and succeed.

An AVID first! 🤩 Thanks to a new partnership with WIISE, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing workplace immersion experiences for Marion County students, 14 AVID & AVID Excel 8 students were chosen to attend a job shadow field trip to Corteva Agriscience!
