One of the most interesting comments he says here is "I never want to be short bitcoin". This might slip past many because he's not saying it in terms of futures speculation. What is 'being short' if you're not actually directionally betting on the price using derivatives? Well, holding dollars is going long USD/BTC, isn't it? This means you're implicitly short BTC/USD just by holding cash. But it actually gets more insane than that. When you're holding any other asset OR liability you're still short BTC. You have a house? That's long 'House'/BTC You have a car? That's short BTC/'Car' The beer you bought on the weekend? Long 'Beer'/BTC Every material or non-material possession, experience or expense you've ever given value to, is equivalent to shorting BTC. Saylor isn't just telling you he wants to have completeness of exposure duration through time... He's telling you that in his opinion there is one perfect universal yardstick of value, and everything else is assured destruction.
