sasuke says hed been watching naruto since they were kids and saw his own loneliness reflected in him. watching naruto made him feel warm and fuzzy which he saw as a weakness and tried to run from. even so he still ended up on the same team as naruto and through their missions,

when sasuke thinks abt team 7 its always as a unit bc hes projecting the idea of family onto them. they function as a symbol of what family once felt like, remembered more as a phase or setting than as individual bonds🤔 meanwhile naruto is the only one he truly individualizes

hearing naruto talk about his dreams and growing stronger together, those feelings resurfaced. thats when sasuke began to see a shadow of his family in team 7 not bc of deep individual bonds but bc naruto had already reopened that part of him
