A 5-month-old puppy at the Euless Shelter is currently at risk of being euthanized after an incident during a school field trip. According to reports, a group of children visited the shelter but were not directly supervised by Animal Control Officers while interacting with the dogs. The environment became loud and chaotic, and this young puppy, overwhelmed, frightened, and still learning about the world—reacted out of fear. The result was a minor injury as a result of the incident. Thankfully, the child is okay. This puppy has no history of aggression. Both a trainer and a veterinarian have said this is not abnormal behavior for a puppy who became stressed in an uncontrolled situation. At just five months old, he is still developing, still learning, and absolutely capable of being guided with proper training, structure, and care. This is not a “dangerous dog.” This is a baby who got scared. We are asking the shelter to reconsider euthanasia and instead release him to Trinity GAP Rescue where he can receive professional training and the chance to grow into the loving companion he’s shown himself to be. Every dog deserves understanding, especially one this young. Please help us advocate for this puppy. Share this post, speak up, and stand with us in asking for compassion over punishment.
