Over x years as scout in NFL and as a coach. Living rent free in heads of those bad apples in our league. You might speak to me at events and not know!

@Chicityforum1 We are already there. Been thin at QB which causes them to be over drafted and overpaid sometimes. I feel like the perfect balance is about 28 teams. Expanding practice squad watered down even more.

@NotSoAngryScout I think kelce is wrong. The one thing the nfl could do that would fuck them over is expand and add more teams leading to a shitty, watered down on field product

@DJWhite12184 @RobiWittmore More than a decade. Indeed. She won’t. She isn’t the only one either and there are men reporters, coaches, players and GMs who have had the arrangement with her as well

@BoxscoreUC Players aren’t really taking a chance though. I just don’t see why one side should assume all the risk. I think a player might work harder if they actually had skin in the game. Agents tell me that even D2 rejects think they should get money and training to sign. Makes me laugh.

@BoxscoreUC Well as long as you have no sympathy for players who just sign with an agent for money and the agent has no relationships to help them. I have seen players not make it solely on bad advice or getting an agent who can’t do anything but pay for training.

@BoxscoreUC If an agent can’t make a living then why do it? What if you work for a company that goes under and they ask you to keep working for free when it closes? Many of these agents with $$ stop working for player when they see the player won’t make NFL from start.

@NotSoAngryScout It’s a two way street. I just don’t think agents should automatically deserve to make a living just because they sign a player. Players certainly have a responsibility with choosing their representation, but just like a job interview, it’s two people largely lying to each other.

@BoxscoreUC Did you know that there are not nearly enough agents for each agent to rep just one client? So if they all just have one client there are many players who just couldn’t have representation. Whats funny is many players will sign w/agent who has 7 more at their position.

@NotSoAngryScout If an agent has other clients how are truly working hard for the player? Everything has opportunity cost.

@BoxscoreUC Prior to 2021 it is fair to say a player needs some help but slippery slope that makes agent biz harder. Players shouldn’t need a stipend or training anymore. They got a lot of money with NIL. How many players good enough for the NFL never got any NIL money you think?

@NotSoAngryScout So why can’t a player get something out of the relationship other than ‘representation’ when the 1st contract is largely negotiated by the CBA?

@BoxscoreUC Believe it or not players are being hurt by bad representation because they picked an agent for wrong reason but that’s the cost of doing business on their end right? I was trying to show sympathy for the players too but you don’t care if they are well represented do you?

@NotSoAngryScout Why is a certainty that agents need to make a living? It’s a risk/reward business. They know what they are singing up for. A lot of things get boiled down to it’s the cost of doing business.

@BoxscoreUC The Monday after the draft a ton of players fire their agents because they signed with an agent who told them they are rated higher than they are and they think the agent blew it. Some don’t fire the agent because they can’t afford to pay back loan and hire a competent one.

@BoxscoreUC It wasn’t the cost of doing business until people like Condon made it that. Players are getting lesser quality representation and just having rich people who don’t know football rep them.

@BoxscoreUC It’s a job. So you think agents should go broke? If they can’t earn a living working for someone then how do they pay bills? Why do you need to earn a living? So agents should assume all risk and a player should not have to risk anything?

@BoxscoreUC Hoard $$? 3% isn’t hoarding money. They already pay money to recruit the player. What happens is agents lose money if they sign day 3 or PFAs usually. The only agents willing to pay a 7th round pick are those desperate who really aren’t any good. Smart agents run risk assessment

@NotSoAngryScout Yea, I wish I could have sympathy. However, there are always market disrupters. Sounds like the agents wanted to hoard money instead of investing in their clients.

@BoxscoreUC I have had many good agents tell me if they don’t pay players off they can’t sign them. Again, do you pay your boss to work for your boss? If every other job field was like NFL agents now it would be messed up. Ask actual agents about it.

@NotSoAngryScout I’m confused why that’s an issue when we know agents were loaning players money getting in their pockets solely for representation. It’s ok for agents to bring more to the table for their clients.

@BoxscoreUC And if you are really a good agent do you need to bribe a player? Shouldn’t your services and you be enough to earn the deal? Agents who buy off players are often overcompensating because they don’t offer anything else. The good agents started to pay cause players just see $$

@BoxscoreUC Remember that if a class goes bad for an agent they got next year. If a player gets a bad agent or it doesn’t work out for the player they are done. You don’t see many people become an agent who don’t already have a six figure income.

@BoxscoreUC And now every swinging dick in every draft class wants a stipend and free training but if they don’t make it then how does an agent earn a living? If one agent says they won’t pay for that stuff the player only comes back to that agent if nobody else will pay. It’s very sad.

@NotSoAngryScout To make sure I understand this, you’re saying he decided he wanted to improve his clients and that is seen as a bad thing because the agents pay for it?
