@andyweirauthor, seeing one of my favourite books of all time brought to life on the big screen was "Amaze, Amaze, Amaze" . . . The un-put-down-able book is now an unforgettable cinematic masterpiece. There are no words to describe it . . . It was PERFECT! #ProjectHailMary

How can you whine about Arsenal's good fortune when Andrich shouldn't have been on the pitch for 90% of the game after his second-yellow deserving offense? "Karma is a b!t@h" precisely because it doesn't care about feelings . . . Look at YOUR teams' results and cry #Arsenal #UCL

So, Mikel Arteta has this guy, right? The hardest-working, most unselfish striker in the league . . . No ego at all, despite being basically played as a decoy . . . The entire squad's going to end the season with 6-7 goals each . . . #BOUARS #PremierLeague #Gunners

Not even @GaryLineker can gaslight me into believing Gyokeres is a low IQ striker . . . He knew EXACTLY what he was doing drawing those defenders, with the lane clear for Zubimendi . . . He's absolutely ecstatic there . . . Unselfishness makes him doubly dangerous . . . #ARSVIL

@TarizSolis I guess "IT: Welcome to Derry" wasn't a 2025 show . . . because its absence here is about as crazy as Pennywise himself

Off the top of my head, here are my favorite shows of 2025. 1. Task (HBO) Probably my favorite show of the year. Emotionally powerful. Lots of great suspense. Well-rounded, complex characters. Gorgeous cinematography and music. The entire cast was just phenomenal. Honestly one of my favorite shows in years. 2. Andor Season 2 (Disney+) Overall, I'd say not quite as good as Season 1, but the second half of the season was spectacular, horrifying, devastating and just all around brilliant. Some of the smartest writing on TV and along with Season 1, my favorite Star Wars or at least tied with ESB and RotJ. 3. Severance Season 2 (Apple TV) Again, not as good as Season 1, though partly that's because Season 1 was perfect. I didn't like where they took some of the storylines, but overall still a brilliant, unique, darkly funny sci-fi drama. 4. The Pitt (HBO) A brilliant twist on the 24 format. A show about an ER told in real time over the course of one extended shift. Remarkably well-written. Despite the many different stories taking place and the general chaos of the emergency room, it was easy to follow. Also heartbreaking. 5. The Chair Company (HBO) This is probably a "love it or hate it" show, and I can understand why it doesn't land for everyone, but I thought it was hilarious, incredibly shot, weird in a very Lynchian way that leaves you unsettled and uncomfortable and pretty much asking wtf did I just watch. Loved it. 6. The Studio (Apple TV) Seth Rogen's movie industry comedy was absolutely hilarious and another really beautifully shot series with so many great "oners" including an entire episode about filming a "oner" that is, itself, one single shot. Just incredibly clever satire. 7. Adolescence (Netflix) I don't think I really *liked* this show, as it was so grim and awful and the subject matter is so depressing, but it was incredibly well made and, once again, the oners were super impressive. Thought-provoking, no doubt. 8. Slow Horses Season 5 (Apple TV) Probably my least favorite season of Slow Horses but even the least good season of the Gary Oldman-led spy show is better than most other TV. Still hilarious, heart-pounding stuff, just wasn't as gripped by the story. 9. Blue Lights Season 3 (BritBox) Just a great, heartfelt police show set in Belfast. I love the characters and the exploration of crime in that city and culture. Not really a mystery, but top-notch crime drama. Honorable mentions to The Lowdown (FX), Paradise (Hulu), The Wheel of Time Season 3 (Amazon Prime) which felt like the show was finally finding its feet and then got cancelled, The Mighty Nein (Prime Video), Terminal List: Dark Wolf (Prime Video) which was basically Call of Duty: The TV Show and genuinely fun military spy thriller fare, though maybe not quite worthy of "Best of 2025" lists, Dept Q (Netflix), Peacemaker Season 2 (HBO), Gen V Season 2 (Prime Video) which is better than The Boys, Down Cemetery Road (Apple TV) based on the books by Mick Herron who wrote Slow Horses, Dexter: Resurrection (Showtime) and probably a bunch I've forgotten. I also watched a ton of older shows like Unforgotten, The Wire, Southland, Banshee, The Shield and lots I'm not remembering at the moment. (Turns out, contrary to my detractors, I actually liked a lot of TV this year!)
