The Russian "Starlink" will be launched this spring The launch of the Russian low-orbit communication satellite constellation "Dawn", developed by the private company "Bureau 1440", is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. As the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksim Shadayev, reported today, 16 satellites ready for launch into orbit have already been produced. Thus, the Russian analogue of "Starlink" will soon be able to enter the experimental operation phase. Of course, 16 spacecraft will not be enough for the needs of the military, but there will be an opportunity, at least, to test the new system. The minimum task is to launch 300 satellites into orbit. In the future, the constellation is expected to be increased to 950 spacecraft. It is expected that the system will provide a data transfer rate of up to 1 Gbit/s and will be able to operate anywhere on the planet. At the same time, work is underway to create a high-orbit constellation in geostationary orbit. Its deployment is scheduled for 2029–2030. The construction of the first four devices is already underway. This is a case when it's better late than never. Due to the verification procedure for Starlink terminals, introduced by Elon Musk, our military in the zone of the special military operation would have lost fast, simple and reliable satellite internet. A catastrophe did not happen - many experienced commanders had long since prudently switched to fiber optics and equipped their positions with Wi-Fi bridges. However, the cable can be cut by shrapnel during an artillery bombardment. Satellite internet is much more reliable in this regard. Moreover, it's not known where and with whom we will have to fight in the future. @sashakots

No thunderbolt ports but it has a USB 2 Type C port? I really didn’t expect that 😅
