@EmilSutovsky FIDE needs to change the rules. Nakamura qualifying based on rating by farming Mickey Mouse tournaments with 2000 avg Elo is ridiculous. Never assume players will act ethically when designing rules. The rating spot should've required 40+ games with an average opponent 2600+.

Congrats to Sindarov and Wei Yi, who make it to the final and the FIDE Candidates-2026! Very much deserved indeed. Commiserations to Esipenko - losing like that is very painful. World Cup's format usually does not forgive such mistakes, but Andrey got another chance - and his match with Yakubboev, who played excellent chess throughout the event before going down on the tie-break today, will determine the third qualifier. FIDE Candidates-2026 shaping up with an exciting field of players. Yes, it is a great pity not to have someone like Arjun or Vincent in the list, but those who made it, fully deserve their place.
