Artists, I pray you get in a position where gate keepers and the higher ups are not your goal. They don’t want you to figure it out on your own. They want you to need them. My “fuck everybody” mentality has closed a lot of doors for me but have opened more doors. They don’t like when you can make it happen on your own. They don’t want you to be financially comfortable on your own because it hurts their business. Throw your own shows, trademark your name, print and sell your own product. Mainstream executives hate smart valuable indie artists. Be the artists they hate.
