With the release of the Kenji Eno documentary, we thought it was worth sharing this article once again: the time D2’s Laura appeared as a model in a Japanese fashion magazine, modelling clothes designed by Yohji Yamamoto. thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2021/04/in-whi…

@BearWivMe How about a baby step and just ask to observe one of their practices?
Feeling unathletic and self-conscious is very real and totally natural.
Training yourself to push against that emotion is something that will lead you toward your fitness goals.
English

@Noun I think I'm too self conscious and extremely unathletic to join a sports group even though it sounds like it would be great for me and health, so I'll think about it 🥲
English

@BearWivMe If I remember correctly, you’re in VC. I’m sure the Rogues would be happy to have you. 😸
English

@Noun Right now I don't think I can afford a trainer but I'll check out the books thank you! 🥹 I think I'll just start doing some basic weightlifting until I can get a trainer/finish the books 🤔
English

@BearWivMe Another thought would be to start training with your local gay rugby team. It’s a sport that favors strength, and you’ll naturally pick up some good info.
English

@BearWivMe Otherwise, two books I’d recommend:
1. Starting Strength - Mark Rippetoe
2. 5/3/1 - Jim Wendler
Both can be found cheap, and they’re such a good foundation. An app may tell you to do something, but it won’t teach you why. Once you understand the why, then you can do anything.
English

@BearWivMe Get a trainer that specializes in powerlifting. Learn proper form for SBD: squat, bench, deadlift. Have them show you how to track your diet.
Plans and guides are helpful, but are better as a supplement to the directed knowledge a coach can give you.
