These are some stats and records that the dude owns inspite of not winning any M1000 over the last 2 years. He belongs to a different universe.

@Certinfy His return of serve peaked in the AO final against Alcaraz, but unfortunately only for the first set :(

Said it for a while now and i’ll say it again. Novak Djokovic’s return of serve has declined so heavily the past few seasons beyond belief. From the best in the world he’s probably not even top 30 these days. The Australian Open semi-final against Jannik Sinner is the only time it’s looked anywhere near the level it was when younger.

I love Novak but let’s be honest he has played terrible tennis in IW for last 8-9 years. Consistently bad after that winning so many times till 2016. Feels like he probably goes there for networking and sponsors and in between squeezes some time to play tennis with UCLA students and then max 1 or 2 matches at IW. It will feel like a win if he can win 2 matches here. However, idemooo forever! Round 1: Bye Round 2: 🇫🇷Perricard/🇵🇱Majchrzak Round 3: 🇵🇱Hurkacz Round 4: 🇬🇧Draper Quarterfinal: 🇺🇸Fritz Semifinal: 🇪🇸Alcaraz/🇦🇺De Minaur Final: 🇮🇹Sinner/🇩🇪Zverev/🇺🇸Shelton/🇮🇹Musetti

@KnuxxGrey @DjokerNole So what? Peak Sinner losing to almost 39 year old Novak is still the most inspiring story.

@NovakGOATovic @DjokerNole He barely got by him in 5 sets, after a walkover and an 0-2 withdraw, not to mention Sinner gifting him 16 of 18 break chances left on the ct 😂

2 months already over in 2026 and just observing what’s happening in the world in geo-politics, business & economy, entertainment & sports, I have a strong feeling that Novak Djokovic’s win over Jannik Sinner in the semifinal of Australian Open is going to be the most inspiring storyline of 2026!

For me- it is AO 2026 Final. Was tempted to write USO F 2021, but maybe Novak’s motivation would have dipped like in 2016 if he would have won all 4. Was also tempted to write Wim 2023 F but maybe Novak would have lost 2023 USO, if he won Wimbledon. Was also tempted for Wim 2024 F but maybe Novak would have lost in Olympics Final to Alcaraz if he won the 2024 Wim final.

Low-key, the Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal match at Wimbledon 2018 might be the greatest tennis match of all time.

Masoom will always be my all time favourite film. I come from the same school as you do (Modern Barakhamba) and hence having studied in a school full of privileged kids it amazes me what drove or inspired you to make a movie with such innocent storytelling and characters. Also, I am really curious to find out how you will recreate that kind of innocence in today’s world. Looking forward to it!

Throw back pic from my first film, Masoom. On the first day of release, I went to the main theatre … and there were only two people in the whole cinema hall.. and one of them was me ! Those days ‘black marketing’ of cinema tickets was really prelavent .. young men, or even gangs, would bulk by cinema tickets and then sell them at higher prices on the day of the show.. of course if the hall was full .. Except the first show on the first day for Masoom, the hall was completely empty ! Outside I got surrounded by some pretty angry looking young boys when they discovered I was the director .. they had lost their money that day .. I must have looked pretty crestfallen. So one of them actually took pity on me, and said .. ‘Sir .. the problem is you’ve made an ‘article’ film’ .. if you want a career , don’t do that ‘ Article film ?? I kept wondering .. article film .. I realized he meant an ‘artistic film’ .. Don’t ever make an artistic film this young black marketeer was trying to warn me .. Well, the Friday of release .. all the cinema halls were empty .. as they were on Saturday, Sunday , Monday , Tuesday .. The Distributors of the film gave up trying to support the film. It was too expensive to keep the film showing to empty halls .. I remember the feeling that day .. when they told me they had decided to give up trying to hold the theatres .. I walked the streets of Mumbai and thought about what I was going to do next in my life , for making films was certainly no longer an option. Something strange happened on Thursday. A friend called me and asked if I could help him get tickets to Masoom. I told him that was a bad joke. But then .. On Thursday one cinema hall had filled up .. then on Friday there were lines of people waiting to buy tickets .. and over the weekend the distributors were scrambling to get back the halls they had given up, and my ‘Article’ film was declared a hit .. What happened that weekend ? People say in retrospect it was ‘Word of mouth’ .. but how could it be, when hardly anyone saw the film ? What happened that Thursday ? .. I still wonder as am about to go into making ‘Masoom, the next generation’ .. years after Masoom the original became a cult film .. Is ‘Masoom, the next generation’ another ‘Article film’ ? #film #Masoom #throwback #directing #FilmDirecting #Career

I usually don’t watch match replays when I know that Djokovic did not eventually win the tournament. However, this semifinal felt different & I love to watch this replay. Novak had nothing to prove but Sinner had won 5 consecutive matches against him & Djokovic knew he had a problem. He is the best problem solver that I have come across in my life. One more problem solved, one more memory created, one more chapter of inspiration written!
