Bears lose their interceptions and locker room leader to the Patriots. GM Ryan Poles said this offseason that Byard was a player the team wanted to re-sign after 2 seasons. But after paying a premium for Coby Bryant, it appears Chicago wasn’t willing to keep spending at safety.
So the Bears lose two starters from the secondary in Byard and CB Nahshon Wright.

Posted this a bit ago. He has been on crutches for 6 weeks not putting any weight on his foot. A FULL return to sport for this surgery is 4-6 months. With the repair vs trim surgery, they are saving meniscus tissue. Should not be a chronic issue @Kapman @xjhoodespn @sheanorling
