@AskKubeir This would be insane to ignore candidates in Canada who have the same education, training, and skills, while inviting H1B holders instead. These individuals are already integrated into the Canadian system and are high taxpayers.

Based on 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, I can understand that Canada would want to take advantage of the 𝗛𝟭𝗕 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦, because it "assumes" they are vetted and have high rated qualification and experience. But look at what happened at the previous H1B pathway, 10,000 applications intake and less than 25% actually arrived in Canada to work. It is also a fact that Canadian salaries can not match up to the US salaries. Studies consistently show that U.S. tech salaries are, on average, 46% higher than their Canadian counterparts. When non-wage compensation like stock options, the primary source of wealth creation in the tech industry is factored in, the financial disparity is often double. Therefore anyone who opts for this H1B pathway in Canada is certainly not going to be here for long term residence, but a springboard hop back to the US, once they get their PR/passport. If we really are despearate for the talent, then 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲, at 100s and 1000s of STEM candidates already working in Canada on LMIA, ICT or C20 or C10 work permits. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 "𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁"
