@zohranmamdani Beautifully said. Bourdain’s courage mattered, but it wasn’t the first time the world saw behind the walls. Palestinians have shown and told us for over 80 years. Too many just chose not to look until a non-Arab put it on mainstream TV.

@mishtal @BBCNews As a former foreign news journalist, I can say with confidence: this is complete bollocks dressed up as media analysis.

I want to address the issue of western journalists not being permitted into Gaza. It is the excuse used whenever outlets such as @bbcnews are criticised. Firstly. There is a key safety issue. This is not the first conflict in which there are restrictions placed on media access - and won't be the last. And while ignorant big-mouths like @Piersmorgan might call it 'bullshit' - I am not actually sure how much understanding he has of a complex urban battlefield Second. Let's not pretend the conflict is not visible. There has never been a conflict with as many cameras on it as this one. Visibility and exposure of what Israel is doing is not actually a problem here nor would international media be given freedom of movement by Hamas to see the bits Hamas wants hidden. This is a non-issue that media outlets use to blame Israel and hide behind. Third. There have been conflicts in Gaza in which international reporters were given access. This did not improve the quality of reporting. Effectively they became puppets of a terrorist regime that puts on a pantomime for them and only shows them what they want to see. They go inside - get taken to a site of interest - get told what they are seeing - and then write about what they are told. Puppets. Fourth. Nobody in Gaza can tell the truth. Imagine a western journalist in Gaza seeing something that would harm Hamas. Do you really think they would report it? Of course they wouldn't. We know this from concrete examples in past conflicts. Which means international journalist access does not address the issue of bias at all - it only further embeds the one-sided narrative. Media outfits like BBC News are using this as an excuse. They could do far more due diligence from here (if they bothered to check) but choose not too. Instead they throw any old pro-Hamas rubbish out without verification and then just run to the 'blame Israel for not letting us in' excuse to cover it up when it is exposed. Remember - I personally found they had used the son of a Hamas terrorist official as a narrator while I was sitting in my room in London. Many of the errors are exposed by fact checkers like @CAMERAorg and @HonestReporting sitting in Europe or the US... YOU DON'T NEED to be in Gaza to do a professional job. If you choose to work hard and look for errors - you can do it anywhere. Because the reality is this. The media have manufactured a genocide lie. It is visibly and blatantly a nonsense. But instead of being responsible and professional - the world's largest media outlets such as BBC News have fuelled the lies and made it all worse - by promoting raw Hamas propaganda almost 24/7. The bottom line is this: Lazy excuses are not enough. Legacy media has helped to spread antisemitism in the mainstream and pushed a pro-Jihadist line. In doing so they have not just weakened Israel - they have not just placed diaspora Jews in danger - they have helped to weaken the entire fabric of western society. They will not be forgiven for it.

@EllaTravelsLove Her voyage is a moral act, not a PR stunt. What’s truly sad is mistaking moral clarity for performance, and genocide for a passing trend.

Now that Greta Thunberg’s flotilla is approaching its destination, it’s worth pointing out that the 22-foot (6.70-meter) yacht carrying 12 people isn’t promoting anything besides PR for Greta herself, who, having abandoned the climate cause once it went out of style, is now chasing something trendier. It carries no humanitarian aid, nor anything that actually helps the people of Gaza. How sad is it that all that remains of a young girl who once wanted to change the world is a performance of provocation and two-cent moral superiority?

Israel won’t let international reporters into Gaza and has assassinated 188 Palestinian journalists because they are trying to cover up a genocide. It’s as clear as day. Even regime propagandists know it👇
