Joe Root is set to be reappointed as England's Test captain with his second stint in the role potentially to extend through to next summer's home series against Australia. @NorwoodIFT agree but I meant out of all the ‘more is more’ changes it would be the least bad compared to most others I can think of (8000 team CL group stage, T20 World Cup every six weeks etc etc)

@Nozza_ Absolutely not. Reason they’re so special is they’re only every 4 years. That’s still a major tournament every other year which isn’t that infrequent. Cricket world cups have minimal hype now as they happen so frequently

I think the one ‘more is more’ thing in modern sport I would accept is international football tournaments. They’re just so good. Play the WC/Euros every other summer and get rid of all the pointless qualifiers/friendlies during the season

The few occasions Haynes’ hamstrings held up he seemed to suit Yann as a partner more than BWP. Honourable mention for the #Wattokele run when things clicked under Luzon at the end of 14/15 too. #cafc

I’d say so. Two great strikers but didn’t gel as a partnership the way Taylor and Grant did. In fact I always thought Hayes worked better as a partner for BWP. Seemed to always be on the same wavelength as him in a way Yann wasn’t. #cafc

Just from a completely personal POV it’s nice that there will be someone lining up for #cafc next season that my old man saw play for us. He was even texting me about him from his hospital bed six weeks or so before he died
