1/ What does ISO Certification really mean? It means moving from good intentions to measurable standards. From individual effort to institutional strength. From process gaps to predictable excellence.

Our team led by the Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho held a fruitful meeting with the State House Scientists Group fronted by Ms. Sheba Kyobutungi and Dr. Joel Isabirye. The meeting held at the URSB headquarters in Kololo presented an opportunity for both teams to review, discuss and analytically evaluate the revolutionary Copyright Management System. The system, developed by State House scientists, is geared towards revolutionalising the creative industry by curbing music piracy and guaranteeing artists’ financial security. The system registers musicians’ works and tracks their usage in entertainment joints, TV stations, and radio stations among others spaces where creative works are used. With the System’s set up, businesses playing Ugandan music will be required to install licensed devices that record play counts, ensuring that artists are compensated fairly. Copyright protection grants creators exclusive economic and moral rights, while "neighbouring rights" protect performers, producers of sound recordings, and broadcasting organisations. #Copyright
