Having a meal with my daughter & niece. There’s people sat next to us & the tables in this place are close to each other. Does this old coloured man not ask the waiter if he’s SAn or from Zim. Then proceeded to talk kak about foreigners so loudly & boldly. I then say loudly ‘People are so proud of their xenophobia. He looks and me, I look at him, waiting for him to say something. He says nothing then they left. I was ready. My ppl are embarrassing.

The taxi industry is doing an event to honour its founders so they asked for pictures of my dad. Sadly most of them perished in a fire years ago but there are some left. Found these whilst I was looking yesterday. Pic 1) My dad and the late Zulu King were really close friends. My half sister is a member of the royal family and we grew up doing quite a lot of dinners with his majesty and wives now that I think about it. Pic 2) My father loved cars. This is him in 1994 in front of some of his faves at the time. This is at our homestead. My father built an estate/compound here. Former President Zulu built his Nkandla in the valley across from it. Pic 3) More cars but this one makes me chuckle because who knew that even in 2024 people would be taking pics when they went to collect their cars. Who knows maybe dad could have been an influencer 😁 Pic 4) My dad used to farm cattle. I’m not sure what I thought was going on but I just loved looking in that kraal and trying to see what the cows were up to. It’s been 28 years. I miss him so much. I can’t even imagine what life would be like with him still here.
