Elevators used to be manually operated and were especially risky if the operator was tired or inebriated. Now, you just get in, press a button and a modern elevator, if inspected regularly, is extremely safe.

Calling an entire immigrant community pirates at the State of the Union while attributing crime, high costs and corruption to their culture as a whole is a broad generalization that paints millions of people with the same brush based on the actions of some. Fraud should be prosecuted and borders should be managed but framing an entire ethnic group as the source of American problems at the highest platform in the country is a very different conversation.
