@eccozones I usually forget all the names of the characters whatever I read or watch within days. I will remember them very quickly if I get context but if you ask me what is the name of the Mc of x anime or manga most of the time I will not be able to answer you

No offence, but retaining plot and lore details of something is not actually important. Like at all.
Art is about how it emotionally resonates with you, it makes you feel things. The idea that you need to partake in social rituals and play memory games is odd!

Most "isolated otaku" will 'consume' so many animanga/vns/lns only to forget major details of everything within a year bc they don't keep their memory sharp through engaging with fandoms.
