The story so far, I'm now comfortable with C++ and have built the core components of a game I have dreamed about for a long time. #gamedevelopment#indiedev#gamedev
I don't know what compelled me to read yet another disappointing @Slate article titled "Stop giving Christmas gifts to adults," that concludes with the advice to still buy adults gifts. How is this website still around?
IT LIVES! It took me two days but I migrated from vscode to visual studio community and fixed tons of build and code issues. No more external dependencies, confusing build with make, and I can now set breakpoints after program execution! #gamedevelopment#indiedev#gamedev
Finally, I’m not sure what the point of raylib-cpp is. You can just include the raylib.h file in your cpp with no issue (that i know of or have uncovered). What you need to be careful of is only including raylib.h in cpp files and using forward declarations with shared_ptrs
Also I would recommend including the source for raylib as part of your project and not making it depend on resources to be set up outside your project. It creates a confusing mess of dependencies down the line.
DO NOT use raylib c/c++ with vscode. There is a bug with gdb that prevents you from setting breakpoints while the program is running. Use visual studio community! #indiedev
While it doesn't LOOK like much, my city-builder has units and pathing(grey and red), resources (green), player defined areas (pink), and actions like "find and pick up wood" Next is making units drop off items
