Beautiful autumn light at Blighty Valley Cemetery this evening. Always a place of peace nestled alongside the wood. Where Privates lay alongside 4 Lieutenant Colonels . We know this is a favourite Cemetery for many and walking among the graves listening to birdsong - perfection.

@TerryWhenham Roland is just the most wonderful man, each day going off to discover for himself the places his grandfather had been. Sharing stories with us each night. Carrying his grandfather’s photo with him.

Last week, whilst staying at @Number56BandB on #Somme, I met German man Roland whose Grandfather was wounded at Serre in June 1915. It was great to be able to have a drink and compare stories. A wonderful man with so many stories. #WW1

After a wet winter it finally feels like Spring is arriving. It is as if the Somme landscape invites you in to explore it’s contours and secrets. History with every pace. Like these rolling fields taking the eye to Dantzig Alley. Spring sunshine finally warming our souls.

@jbanningww1 The layout remains the same to previous. No roundabout. Work has not been completed on that section other than resurfacing, with no date set for junction alteration completion.

I know that the road junction at La Boisselle where the D20 from Aveluy crosses the Albert - Bapaume road has been improved recently. Is there a roundabout there now? Does anyone have any recent photos? Cheers
