quite a lot of people have asked me to share thoughts on $JUP, so here are some off the cuff notes: 1. first & foremost, i am as all in on JUP as i can possibly be, so I’m as motivated to make it do well as any human or cat can be 2. there is so much so much to look forward to in the coming months - new products, platforms, new metas, new markets, new ideas. as usual, we aim to build the best possible teams, products, infrastructure and experiments to drive these forward. 3. we will also be fundamentally updating the way we communicate with JUP token holders, with the recent major update by @kashdhanda & @sssionggg as an example. I’m also committing to sharing more insights regularly about how we think about the Jupiverse as a whole directly with holders. An email list will be set up soon for that purpose. 4. of course, the 50% revs going to the litterbox showcases our intense belief in long term value of JUP, and also creates a powerful treasury for proven community leaders to be able to leverage in the future. 5. we are also moving affirmatively in addressing one of the most significant drag on sentiment over the last few months - workgroup fud and dao negativity. we got the message loud and clear about some fundamental things that needs to change, and we will work with the entire community on resetting a lot of things. 6. but to be very, very clear - in this reset, we will not lose what makes the Jupiverse so special - we will make it stronger. over the trials and tribulations over the whole period of our existence, we have built up one of the most passionate, intelligent and vocal communities around - and now the stage is set to turn the Jupiverse into a global community that drives both Jupiter platform and Web4 ethos to the world. 7. last but not least, we look forward to JUP being more and more integrated into how the Jupiverse functions and how external parties works with us. To set expectations, this will be very incremental, but we are definitely putting this as one of the things on the agenda. to end off this note, I would like to say a big thanks to everyone who held, used, loved, criticized or gave any kind of feedback or interactions with JUP, even the harshest ones. regardless of whether we agree, and regardless of whether we can do anything about it, and regardless of how long it takes, we do read everything and take everything to heart. so thanks again for being part of the journey so far, I’m very optimistic we are at the very start!! rem, it’s day 0! 🐱🐱

A Crazy Idea for Token Issuance What if someone issues a token with the following tokenomics? Initially, 10% of the tokens are unlocked and sold on the market. The proceeds go to the project team to build out the product/platform, marketing, salaries, etc. Each future unlock must meet ALL of the following conditions: 1. Six months after the previous unlock. 2. ONLY IF the token price has sustained above 2x of the previous unlock price for more than 30 days immediately before the unlock. 3. Up to 5% of tokens maximum each time. For example, if the TGE was in Jan with a price of $1, by June, if the token price is still less than $2, no more tokens can be unlocked. Let’s say the token's price was above $2 from July 4 to Aug 3, then on Aug 3, 5% more tokens can be unlocked into circulation. Say the price is $3 on Aug 3. The next earliest unlock possible is March 3 next year, and only if the price is above $6 for longer than 30 days. The project teams have the discretion to delay or reduce the size of each unlock. If they don’t want to sell more, they don’t have to. But the maximum they can sell (unlock) each time is 5%, and then they have to wait for at least another 6 months AND the price to double again. The project team does NOT have the discretion to shorten or increase the size of the next unlock. The tokens shall be locked by a smart contract where a third party controls the keys. This avoids new tokens flooding the market when prices are low. It also gives the project team incentives to build for the long term. I have no plans to issue a new token. Just an idea for discussion.
