And meanwhile I just got a rejection on another flash fiction story. One that I personally considered one of the best I've written recently. It's all very confusing.

@AbigailFalanga The movies are beautiful and I love them. Still doesn't make their adaptation of the best characters good adaptations, yeah. (FARAMIR. ARAGORN. LEGOLAS. I love all of them in both their book and film versions but yeah...the films just do not understand their nobility etc., tbh.)

Despite my initial aversion after watching the movies, I have come to realize that they are skillful, beautiful, respectful adaptations. ...that happen to get almost all of their main characters wrong in such fundamental ways that I will never truly love the films.

Peter Jackson committed many sins against Tolkien. None worse than his butchery of Aragorn. The books show us a KING who knows exactly who he is. The films gave us a whimpering man questioning his birthright. One commands respect. The other begs for validation. (thread) 🧵

This December will mark precisely one decade since I showed up in my author's head and demanded she write my tale. What should she do to celebrate? (Perhaps write more of it...)

That moment when your author puts a sticker of you on her laptop. The laptop she keeps NOT using to write your book... It's too cute to be me, obviously... Character problems. *sigh*
