Hawks to Talk About! If you weren’t at the @olatheschools BOE meeting, you missed out! HawkTalkers Olivia & Lexi led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Caydence McGory was selected to help give the Spotlight on OE presentation. Way to represent! @OlatheEastHawks

Congrats to Aiden and Ethan on their 4th place JV medals at the Olathe East Debate Tournament! All who attended had a great time, and we saw some awesome costumes!!

Speaker Awards Roll Call! 🥉 Brennan – 3rd place speaker, cool, calm, and clearly convincing 📈 Gavin – Jumped from novice to varsity and grabbed 6th place like a pro ✨ Olivia – 7th speaker in varsity, making every word count Elite voices, sharp minds, & medals to prove it!

Shoutouts for our incredible debaters who placed individually at Seaman! Olivia & Dani – 3rd in Varsity (aka the bosses) Charlotte & Anna – 3rd in Novice (rookies? more like rockstars) Brennan & Ta’Shawn – 8th place finish in novice & still crushing it!

Shoutout to our amazing debate team for bringing home 2nd Place at the Topeka Seaman Debate Tournament! Every arg. sharp, every rebuttal smoother than fresh flow paper. We showed up, spoke up & crushed it. In suits, hoodies, or headphones, the brainpower was off the charts.

HoCo25 Parade highlights: Check out those Greek inspired debate posters! Fun fact - through Sophists’ teachings of persuasive argumentation, debate developed in Athenian assemblies shaping the foundation of effective communication.

Novice Reagan & Mikaela are UNDEFEATED with PERFECT SPEAKS which places them 1st! They set the bar high!

Novice team Taylor & Chandler (not pictured) are UNDEFEATED placing 2nd!!

Our HawkTalkers had an outstanding opening weekend placing 2nd in team sweeps at the Olathe North Invitational! Way to go Hawks!

All Olathe students and coaches are safe and have been reunified. Thank you to all of the coaches who stepped up and ran towards the chaos to protect and comfort students. We have the best community.

Team leader, Piper, had a phenomenal weekend! Semifinalists in Program Oral Interpretation & Lincoln Douglas Debate, 3rd in Impromptu Speaking, and is your @KSHSAA STATE CHAMPION in Dramatic Interpretation!

Newcomer this season, Calista, finished as a semifinalist in International Extemp speaking and is your @KSHSAA STATE CHAMPION in Original Oration!!

Dynamic duo Gilbo & Gilbo finished 4th with their performance of A Few Good Men. Dylon was a finalist in all 3 of his events taking 4th in Humorous Interp & 5th in Prose!
