Everyone deserves to feel safe in this country. Two weeks ago, following the horrific terrorist attack in Manchester, I saw first-hand the fear inside the Jewish community, and I promised to do everything in my power to guarantee them the security they deserve. That started with a more visible police presence – and today we are giving extra funding to ramp up security around synagogues and faith schools. More must be done. Tackling hatred and extremism in our society is a challenge for our whole country. It’s on all of us to tackle this evil – and I am determined my government will leave no stone unturned to protect Jewish people in all parts of life.

Scotland is a testimony to the power of tactical voting and the rejection of Brexit by the Scottish people. Three years ago Scotland voted 62% to Remain, and in this election 53/59 of our elected MPs back a Final Say. There has never been a mandate for Brexit here.
