Three British Airways cabin crew members were hospitalised during a layover in Los Angeles after consuming marijuana gummies reportedly given by a passenger following a London–LAX flight. The gummies allegedly contained 300 mg of THC, causing one crew member to describe an “out-of-body experience”. The incident occurred after arrival at Los Angeles International Airport from London Heathrow. The affected crew were declared unfit for duty, requiring the airline to deploy a replacement team for the return flights. The three later flew back to London as passengers. British Airways has launched an internal investigation into how the edibles were supplied. The airline confirmed there was no impact on customers and emphasised that strict drug and alcohol policies remain in place. Authorities could pursue charges if the passenger is identified.
