WIMBLEDON 🎾 For Rainbows this week, we completed tennis themed obstacle courses before scoffing some strawberries and cream. The Brownies enjoyed a private coaching session at our local club with some very enthusiastic volunteers and coach. 🌞

SOMERSET ROADSHOW 🍎 Last Sunday, the GGSWE Region Team invited all Somerset Girlguiding volunteers to a cream tea and walk around the Bishops Palace in Wells. It was fantastic as my local Brownies leader got awarded a Somerset Standard to recognise her dedication.

(2/2) With the Brownies, we created our own t-shirts to spread positivity around our communities as well as talked about the people that love and support us through life. A very fitting activity whilst we discussed the hidden impacts of war as part of VE Day…

VE 80 🇬🇧 & MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS 🧠 This week was a mish-mash of topics with VE inspired activities with the Rainbows including dancing the Lambeth Walk, making pin badges, eating lots of cake and trying spam!!🧁(1/2)

(2/2) Whilst at our first week back for Brownies, with a new leadership team, less girls (for now) and different Sixes, it was all change! We enjoyed a catch up about the new changes as well as played games for the hour we are now meeting! 🎲

SETTLING IN… As Sunny Owl and I took on Brownies for the first time this week, there has been plenty of prep hours and GO training happening over Easter! At Rainbows, we worked on UMAs learning about money and being leaders, all part of our Life Skills theme this term. (1/2)

BACK TO WORK 😊 Last week at Rainbows, we completed our Construction Badge as we like to include interest badges as part of our Unit Programme. They built spaghetti and marshmallow towers as well as planned their own towns. Rollercoasters and duck parks included! 🦆

HOLIDAYS 🏝️ Whilst everyone had a break over Easter, Robin was hard at work tidying up the Rainbow Shed, tackling the Brownie Cupboard and the new display board! 😅 I love organising, boxes and the all important inventory. It just makes life easy when planning or week to week 😍

EASTER 🐣 For our final week at Rainbows, we completed the traditional egg hunt alongside some chick themed games, whilst at Brownies we closed the term with a huge presentation of badges - saying goodbye to both girls and leaders - it felt like a little chapter closing…📚

GIRL EXPERIENCE CONFERENCE 🌱 The 2025 theme of #sustainability was a hit with talks from our new #GGSWE ambassador, a County Commissioner around sharing kit and resources as well as our awesome workshops on Guiding sustainably…

MOTHERS DAY 🌷 We made cute flower gifts for our amazing mothers, grandmothers and female friends at Rainbows whilst the Brownies created cards and played games. We also decided on some potential names for our two new volunteer helpers! 💭

LEGOLAND 🤖 This weekend #GGSWE welcomed over 5,000 young members and leaders to @LEGOLANDWindsor for two days of jam-packed fun and adventure! It was great to see so many smiling faces strolling round the park, not an inch of it that didn’t have uniform somewhere!

(2/2) We also welcomed 10 Brownies officially into our unit by making their promises and I got told off for calling the toadstall a mushroom… 🍄

BUG HUNTERS & HAPPINESS 🌞 Last week at Rainbows, we visited our local woods to hunt for bugs as well as play outdoor games! With the Brownies, we celebrated #InternationalHappinessDay and created positivity jars with all the things we love and enjoy inside for my JLS. (1/2)

CHARITIES & DUKE OF EDINBURGH 👑 With the Rainbows we talked about different charities, each group saying why we should all give our (fake) money to their charity. At Brownies, the DofE volunteers ran the week with some fish themed crafts and some Easter cakes…yum 😋

SCIENCE WEEK & TRASH FASHION 🧬 We celebrated #InternationalWomensDay with our Rainbows by combining it with Science Week and celebrated female scientists. We played with sound waves, gases and germs 🦠 whilst at Brownies we made trash fashion from our week’s recycling! ♻️

(2/2) We had an incredible time and the staff were amazing, very knowledgable and helpful. The girls got to watch Finding Dory whilst munching on ice cream. 🍨 All their beds laid out in front of the main tank, it was an experience of a lifetime for them. 🥰

SLEEPING WITH THE SHARKS 🦈 Last weekend, we took our Brownies, alongside around 50 others to the National Aquarium in Plymouth for a night to remember! We got free reign of the place, many workshops and a movie 🍿 (1/2)
