George Ennin, a 53-year-old Ghanaian security guard and father of two teenage daughters living in the Bronx, New York, was fàtàlly stàbbed in a random, unprovoked attàck on January 5, 2026, around 2 p.m. He was walking to work (his first day back after a month-long vacation in Ghana) near Third Avenue and East 157th Street in Melrose/Mott Haven when the suspect approached, kicked him, and stàbbed him multiple times. Surveillance video captured the incident; Ennin walked about 29 steps seeking help before collàpsing. He d!ed at Lincoln Hospital. Suspect Sean Jones, 38, a repeat offender with 20 prior arrests (mostly ròbberies and assàults) has since been arrested and charged with mùrder, mànslàughter, and crìmìnal possession of a wèapon.
