Lagos–Abeokuta Road Reconstruction Records Steady Progress Reconstruction works on the Lagos–Abeokuta Road are recording steady and measurable progress more than a month after the last official update, with activities ongoing across major sections of the corridor. Although the road is a federal asset that suffered years of neglect, the Ogun State Government intervened in response to the needs of residents and road users. The project adopts a targeted engineering approach, deploying rigid concrete pavement at low points and areas with high water tables, while other sections are executed with appropriate asphalt solutions. This method is aimed at ensuring durability, improving safety, and delivering value for public funds as work continues through Itori, Papalanto, Ifo, Ewekoro, Obada Oko, and towards the Sango axis under the administration of Governor @DapoAbiodunCON.

As part of our engineering review and commitment to durability, adjustments are being made to ensure the Atan–Lusada–Agbara Road meets the highest standards of strength and longevity. The existing road foundation remains sound, and current works are focused on delivering a finished roadway that can withstand heavy industrial traffic, high axle loads, and frequent usage, while also reducing long-term maintenance demands and ensuring better value for public funds. The 19.1-kilometre road, linking the highly industrialised Agbara axis to Lusada and Atan, remains a vital economic lifeline for industrial, commercial, and residential communities. Phase Two of the project is currently underway, reinforcing our resolve to deliver long-lasting, world-class infrastructure. With the Federal Government’s takeover of the Sokoto–Badagry Highway, which includes this corridor, the area is well positioned for sustained infrastructure growth, improved mobility, and accelerated economic development across Ogun State. As construction advances, traffic flow and road safety along this critical corridor are already improving, while overall travel time for motorists continues to reduce, further supporting productivity and daily economic activities within the axis. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #OgunState #InfrastructureDevelopment #DapoAbiodun

Over a month after our last update, we continue to record steady and measurable progress on the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Road. Although it is a Federal road that suffered decades of neglect long before the commencement of this administration, we took a deliberate decision to intervene in the interest of our people. In reconstructing the road, rigid concrete pavement is being deployed specifically at low points and areas with high water tables, where durability is critical, while other sections are executed using appropriate asphalt solutions. This targeted engineering approach ensures longevity, improves safety, and delivers better value for public funds, as work progresses across Itori, Papalanto, Ifo, Ewekoro, Obada Oko, and towards the Sango axis. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #InfrastructureDevelopment #DapoAbiodun #OgunState #AbeokutaSangoOta

We are nearing completion of the Reconstruction of the Elega–Miliki–Saje Junction Road, a critical corridor designed to improve mobility, safety, and economic activity within the axis. The project has reached 95% overall completion, with asphalt laying 99% completed, signalling that the road will soon be fully delivered for public use. When completed, the road will directly serve Elega Estate and Elega town, Saje, Bode Olude, and Miliki, while strengthening connectivity between Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South and Odeda. Beyond easing daily movement, it will enhance access to homes, markets, schools, and businesses, support intra-city mobility, and boost economic activities within Abeokuta and its environs. This project reflects our deliberate commitment under the leadership of Dapo Abiodun to opening up communities, easing movement, and delivering durable infrastructure that improves the quality of life of our people across Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #DapoAbiodun #OgunState #InfrastructureDevelopment #RoadReconstruction #ISEYA

Ongoing Reconstruction of Akute–Lambe–Oke Aro–Agbado–Ijoko Road The ongoing reconstruction of the Akute–Lambe–Oke Aro–Agbado–Ijoko Road cutting across Ifo Local Government Area and Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area is progressing steadily, and we are pleased with the level of work being delivered by our engineers and contractors on site. This strategic corridor remains a critical link for residents, businesses, and commuters who rely on it daily to connect Ogun communities with neighbouring Lagos, and we are committed to delivering a durable and modern road that improves mobility and supports economic growth. In this current phase, the section being handled by our engineers will pass both the Agbado Train Station and the Agbado Bridge, two important landmarks that will greatly benefit from improved access and smoother traffic flow when completed. We are ensuring that proper drainage systems, strong base layers, and high-quality asphalt are installed to guarantee durability, safety, and long-term performance. This project reflects our broader commitment to opening up communities, reducing travel time, and improving the overall quality of life for our people. For us, infrastructure is not just about roads, it is about connectivity, opportunities, and shared prosperity for every part of Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #ISEYA #DapoAbiodun #OgunState #InfrastructureDevelopment

We have reaffirmed our commitment to unity and transparency while commissioning the Abeokuta–Obalende and Osinubi New Roads in Ijebu-Ode. We cautioned against attempts to sow division over oil exploration in Ogun Waterside, clarifying that the exercise is being undertaken by the Federal Government through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, not by the Ogun State Government. While hydrocarbon indications have been identified around Tongegi Island, commercial viability is yet to be confirmed, and no funds have been diverted. What exists are promising signs that still require drilling approved by the President to determine quantity. We also addressed misinformation around our comments, stressing that commercial drilling has not commenced. To protect national assets, security has been strengthened with a Naval presence, including approval for a Forward Operating Base at Tongegi Island. We commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for directing renewed momentum on the Olokola Deep Sea Port, which will significantly boost Ogun State’s economy. On infrastructure, we reiterated that performance remains our response to criticism. More than 20 township roads have been reconstructed across Ijebu-Ode, with additional projects ongoing to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and stimulate commerce. Community leaders, market representatives, and elected officials acknowledged the positive impact of these projects, affirming our resolve to keep delivering tangible development across the state. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #DapoAbiodun #OgunState #InfrastructureDevelopment #ISEYA

Honestly, projects like the Iperu–Ilishan Road go far beyond just fixing a bad road. What is happening here is the deliberate building of a network that makes Ogun State truly functional and competitive. When you look at this road alongside the Sagamu–Sapade corridor, you begin to see a clear strategy: opening up access to the Gateway International Airport from every direction in Nigeria.

Connecting Communities: Ogun State Advances Road Infrastructure Across LGAs Ogun State continues to record visible progress in road infrastructure delivery, with a new batch of roads recently commissioned across several local government areas, while many others are now fully completed and ready for commissioning. These projects cut across Sagamu, Abeokuta, Ifo, Ijebu, Yewa, Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Ikenne and other parts of the state, reflecting a deliberate spread aimed at improving connectivity, easing movement, and supporting economic and social activities in both urban and semi-urban communities. Beyond the newly commissioned roads, another group of strategic corridors has reached completion stage and is awaiting formal commissioning. These include key access roads linking markets, residential districts, agricultural zones, airport corridors and commercial hubs. Their completion further strengthens intra-state mobility, reduces travel time, improves safety, and enhances the overall quality of life for residents. In addition, a wide range of ongoing projects captured under the “to be completed soon” category are advancing steadily across the state. From Abeokuta and Remo to Ijebu, Yewa, Ogun Waterside and Ado-Odo/Ota, these roads underscore a sustained commitment to infrastructure renewal, balanced development, and long-term economic growth, as Ogun State steadily builds a stronger, more connected future. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #ISEYA #InfrastructureDevelopment #DapoAbiodun

Ogun State Strengthens Housing Development as Prince Court Estate, Kobape, Records Rapid Growth Housing development continues to gain momentum in Ogun State under the Prince @DapoAbiodunCON-led administration, with several structured residential projects reshaping the state’s urban landscape. One of such projects is Prince Court Estate, Kobape, Abeokuta, a multi-phase housing scheme commissioned under the current government. Prince Court Estate spans Phases One to Four and has emerged as one of the fastest-growing residential locations in the state. Strategically located a few minutes from Lagos, the estate enjoys good road connectivity to Abeokuta and major Lagos corridors, making it attractive to homeowners, professionals, and investors. Beyond Prince Court, the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration has continued to expand housing delivery across the state through residential schemes in Sagamu, Ilaro, Kemta (Abeokuta), Ijebu-Ode, Warewa, and Iperu, alongside other completed estates including Ibara GRA and PMB Estates. Upcoming projects such as Siun Estate, Havilah Estate, and ISEYA Courts in Abeokuta further reflect the government’s sustained commitment to housing development. These developments underscore a broader drive towards structured urban growth, improved housing access, and the creation of sustainable communities across Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #OgunState #HousingDevelopment #PrinceCourtEstate #DapoAbiodun

Ode–Sapade Road Phase 3 Nears Completion in Ogun Reconstruction works on the Ode–Sapade Road have reached an advanced stage, with Phase Three of the project now nearing completion, the Ogun State Government has said. Major asphalt works have been delivered across most sections of the corridor, with only limited finishing activities outstanding. The development marks a significant milestone in the ongoing rehabilitation of the Sagamu–Ode–Sapade axis, which serves as a vital link for residents, businesses, and commuters within the Remo area. Phases One and Two of the project, covering the Sagamu to Iperu stretch, were earlier completed and opened to traffic. Phase Three covers the Ode Remo to Sapade section and involves full rehabilitation and dualisation of the road, including the removal of the old pavement, laying of new asphalt on both carriageways, and the construction of a 200-metre link connecting the corridor to the Ibadan Expressway. In total, the works cover a stretch of 5.5 kilometres. The state government commended residents and road users for their patience and cooperation during the construction period, reaffirming its commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure that improves mobility, boosts local economic activities, and enhances the quality of life across Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #OgunState #ISEYA #DapoAbiodun #InfrastructureDevelopment

IPERU–ILISHAN ROAD ENTERS FINAL ASPHALTING STAGE The reconstruction and dualisation of the Iperu–Ilishan Road has reached a major milestone, with binder and wearing course asphalt now being laid across sections of the corridor, marking the project’s entry into its final stage. This 5.3-kilometre strategic road, which links Iperu to Ilishan and serves as a critical connection to the Gateway International Airport and the Sagamu–Benin Expressway, has progressed beyond earthworks, extensive drainage construction, and stone-base layers. With active asphalt works ongoing, the road is visibly taking its final shape. We note the steady pace of work delivered so far, including completed drainage systems and stabilised base courses that provide a strong foundation for long-term durability. Upon completion, this road will significantly improve mobility, enhance safety, reduce travel time, and stimulate commercial activities for communities along the corridor and airport-bound commuters. With the completion of this road and the Sagamu–Sapade Road, the Gateway International Airport will become one of the most easily accessible airports in Nigeria, seamlessly connected from the North, South, East, and West. This integrated road network is central to our plan to position Ogun State as a major logistics, aviation, and investment hub. We remain committed to delivering a high-quality, durable road that meets top engineering standards and supports our broader agenda of strengthening infrastructure and accelerating economic development across Ogun State. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #InfrastructureDevelopment #GatewayInternationalAirport #OgunState #DapoAbiodun

The ongoing construction of the 100.5km Obelle–Ilaro–Papalanto–Sagamu Road in Ogun State is progressing steadily. This vital infrastructure project is being executed by the Dangote Group under the Federal Government’s Tax Credit Scheme, and our administration played a significant role in ensuring that this project became a reality for the overall benefit of the good people of Ogun State and other road users. About ten months ago, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and I paid an inspection visit to this strategic corridor, which holds immense significance for Ogun State and Nigeria at large. When completed, it will provide a seamless alternative route for commuters from Sango, Iyana Ipaja, and Itori, eliminating the need to use the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway or pass through Abeokuta to access the Sagamu Interchange.

Abiodun Commissions Wole Soyinka Train Station Road, Set to Inaugurate 20 More Roads Ogun State Governor, Prince @DapoAbiodunCON has commissioned the Laderin–Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station Road in Abeokuta, announcing plans to inaugurate 20 additional roads across the state.
Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON@DapoAbiodunCON

On Tuesday, we commissioned the Laderin–Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station Road in Abeokuta and announced plans to inaugurate 20 additional roads across Ogun State as part of activities marking our state’s 50th anniversary. This commissioning reflects our sustained commitment to expanding quality road infrastructure across the state. At the event, we disclosed that work is progressing steadily on the Sagamu Interchange–Papalanto–Opele Road, a 100-kilometre highway that will serve as a major east-west connector. When completed, it will provide motorists with an alternative route, reduce pressure on existing corridors, and open up new areas for commerce and investment. Describing the Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station as a strategic transport hub linking Ogun to Lagos, Oyo State, and the northern region, we noted that although access roads were not originally provided, our administration deliberately rehabilitated the Laderin road in line with our multimodal transport agenda. Thousands of passengers commute daily along this corridor. The train station road forms part of over 1,600 kilometres of roads constructed across Ogun State, with key projects such as the Atan–Lusada–Agbara Road also recording significant progress. These interventions will ease movement, enhance safety, and boost economic activities in Abeokuta and surrounding communities. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #OgunState #DapoAbiodun #InfrastructureDevelopment

We remain committed to restoring roads that directly touch the lives of our people and strengthen local economies across Ogun State. Tai Solarin Road in Ikenne Town is one of such roads, and today, it is gratifying to see it reach practical completion under our administration. For a very long time, this road was in a terrible condition due to years of neglect. It became almost impassable, disrupting movement and hurting commercial activities in the area. We therefore intervened to ensure that the people of Ikenne once again have a safe, functional, and reliable road. Today, Tai Solarin Road has been restored as a major catalyst for economic activities in the town. Residents now move with ease, businesses are returning, and even when the expressway is congested, this road serves as a dependable alternative route. Ikenne is a town of rich heritage and national pride. It is home to Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Tai Solarin, a former Vice President of Nigeria, and several other notable Nigerians. It is also home to the famous Mayflower School, and the rehabilitation of this road will now provide easier, safer access to the school and the surrounding communities. We know how bad this road used to be. People were afraid to stop or trade here. But now, the story has changed. The market is alive again. People can park, stop, and buy and sell without fear. We thank God for this progress, and we remain resolute in delivering infrastructure that improves daily life and creates opportunities for our people. #BuildingOurFutureTogether #InfrastructureDevelopment #DapoAbiodun #OgunState #Ikenne
