Today we celebrate Freedom. The concert dedicated to the commemorations of the 48th anniversary of the 25th of April, a tradition of the Orquestra Geração, takes place today, at 6 pm, at Recreios da Amadora, with the Orquestra Municipal Geração Amadora. Admission is free.

Did you know that more than 5,000 children and young people have passed through Orquestra Geração since its creation? Today the project brings together about 2,000 young people in the various municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Coimbra, Tondela and Castanheira de Pera

Why do we choose music to change lives? Orquestra Geração is a school of citizenship. Through music together, feelings of solidarity, cohesion and belonging are strengthened, while individual, professional and academic skills are developed, with reflections on their life paths.

With the special contribution of Associação D. Pedro V, the project's social investor, it was possible to purchase 15 musical instruments, including violins, violas, cellos, double basses and transverse flutes, so that we can continue our mission to impact more children.

The Comunidades Geração project is growing. At the beginning of this school year, the project embraced 15 more children in Castanheira de Pera. There are now 62 children who are impacted by the Comunidades Geração project in the municipalities of Tondela and Castanheira de Pera.

Between February 18th and March 7th, Orquestra de Afectos will bring theater to kindergartens Amélia Vieira Luís, Tomás Ribeiro (both in the Carnaxide-Portela grouping) and Alto do Moinho (Almeida Garrett grouping), through Lupa Grupo de Teatro, with the play Vaivém.

Members of the Rotary Clubs of Lisbon, Lisbon Benfica and Lisbon Parque das Nações handed over a scholarship of 500€ to the students Luísa Semedo, violinist, Adriana Correia, double bassist, and Catarina Barroso, trumpet player.

Over the past 14 years, we have counted on the constant support of our teachers. Today, there are about 70 teachers who collaborate with the project. Without their commitment, dedication, and passion for Orquestra Geração our mission would not be possible.

On January 22, at 4 pm, Orquestra Jovem Municipal Geração de Lisboa will perform at Cine-Teatro Benavente for a concert to celebrate the New Year. Come and see the work developed by this Orchestra! Entrance is free and all rules by DGS will be followed.

In July 2021, OMGBNL and GeraJazz had the opportunity to perform a concert at the Pavilhão Paz e Amizade. The last documentary we share is dedicated to Orquestra Municipal Geração Bora Nessa de Loures and GeraJazz, as unique moments of that concert. youtu.be/8vhESIbAw4M

Concerts are a key component of our project, as they allow students to incorporate results of the work invested, creating visibility to the public, families and communities.

We received the Status of Public Utility, granted by the Office of the Secretary of State of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, for 10 years. This recognition highlights the importance of the work that has been developed, since 2007, in portuguese society.

The work done by Orquestra Geração is reflected every year in several pedagogical internships that bring children and teachers together to consolidate knowledge and perform concerts.

More than 5000 children and young people have passed through Orquestra Geração. Although we are not a music school, many of these young people choose to follow music as a career and go to higher education to study music.
