ㅤ “ well, we can't all have perfect pancake skills, ” she sighs dramatically, shrugging and giving him a cocky grin. ㅤ

ㅤ smiling a bit more at his evasiveness, she can't help but wonder what she'd caught him thinking about. she wouldn't press the subject, though. not this time, at least. instead, she critiques his pancake skills. “ not bad, but ... not great either, ” she teases. ㅤ

ㅤ as she looks back over, she catches a glimpse of his smile, and it brings hints of a smile to her face as well. it was nice to see, especially after they've had such hard times. “ what're you cheesing so much about over thereׅ𖤠 ” she teases curiously. ㅤ

ㅤ “ sure. you could put a couple pancakes down on the griddle if you'd like. just know that the thicker they are, the more attention you'll have to pay to them so that the middle cooks through. ” offering him the batter and spoon. “ just don't do anything stupid. ” ㅤ

ㅤ smiling up at him. “ that's what I like to hear, ” she chuckles before grabbing the bowl of mix and walking off to the griddle. ㅤ
