The layout of the Secretary of State’s website was redone recently and it’s kind of trendy? Like I just KNOW this was done by somebody on a Mac. Is this something I can give feedback on? I have thoughts and feelings!!!

Secretary LaRose has decided a tie vote of the Franklin County Board of Elections in favor of a protest against the candidacy of Samuel Ronan, who was seeking the Republican nomination for the office of U.S. Representative in the 15th Congressional District. The board has been informed that Mr. Ronan is no longer a certified candidate for the May 5, 2026 Primary Election, and the board has been instructed to provide proper notice with all ballots that votes for this candidate will not be counted.

March Madness is underway! Ohio has 4 men's teams in the tourney and 2 women's teams! We're excited to cheer them on!

Secretary LaRose has accepted the recommendation of a hearing officer to uphold the protest challenging the candidacy of Jeffery Kanter, Libertarian candidate for United States Senate. Boards of elections have been informed that Mr. Kanter is no longer a certified candidate for the May 5, 2026 Primary Election and have been instructed to provide notice on all ballots that any votes cast for this candidate will not be counted.

Happy Statehood Day, Ohio 🎂🎉 Since 1803, the Buckeye State has been making its mark. From inventors and astronauts to small business owners and community leaders, Ohioans know how to get things done. Today, we’re celebrating the people who keep our state moving forward and make Ohio such a great place to live, work, and participate in our democracy.

Our January and February community initiative supported hunger-free and healthier communities, and our team showed up in a big way! We collected 785 non-perishable food items to help families in our communities! Each division was tasked with building creative structures with their donations. Which division do you think should win bragging rights for best can-struction?

We had a great time at Wickliffe High School in Northeast Ohio alongside the @LakeCountyBOE for a Grads Vote event. Juniors and seniors cast ballots for the best pizza in Wickliffe, the best NFL team, and the official beverage of Wickliffe. Most importantly, 12 more Ohioans are ready to make their voice heard in the May 5th Primary Election after registering to vote! Ohio’s next generation of voters is stepping up!

As of today's 4 p.m. deadline for protests against partisan candidates’ petitions, our office has received two formal requests for a protest hearing, one challenging the candidacy of Jeffery Kanter, Libertarian candidate for United States Senate, and another challenging the denial of candidacy of Renea Turner, Republican for Governor.
