The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) on Friday received 116 rain ponchos from Exclusive Sustainable Tour Operators Association (ESTOA) to support ranger operations in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The gear, received by UWA Executive Director, Dr James Musinguzi, will greatly support frontline rangers conducting gorilla tracking and conservation duties in the park’s challenging rainy conditions. This contribution is a strong boost to conservation efforts and the welfare of the dedicated teams protecting Uganda’s treasured mountain gorillas and biodiversity. #ConservingForGenerations

I’m not backing the other two candidates. If it’s God’s will, I want Hon. Minister Jacob Marksons Oboth as Speaker. Lawyer, IP expert, MP for West Budama South, and former Chair of the Legal & Parliamentary Affairs Committee. His experience makes him ready for the Speaker role.

I had a pleasant meeting with my brother, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, at State House Entebbe. We discussed strengthening Uganda-Egypt relations in the areas of trade, industrialisation, renewable energy, fish farming and water resource management. I shared with him the need to support large-scale fish farming as a way of protecting wetlands, creating jobs and helping our people transition from subsistence agriculture to commercial production. We also discussed the importance of electricity and manufacturing in driving socio-economic transformation. We further exchanged views on regional peace and stability, emphasizing dialogue and African cooperation in resolving conflicts.

I welcomed H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of Mozambique, to Uganda on his first visit to our country. I appreciate the historic relationship between Uganda and Mozambique, especially the support Mozambique extended to FRONASA fighters who trained in Montepuez during the liberation struggle. Today, we held discussions at State House Entebbe on matters of national and regional importance, particularly security and the continued cooperation between our two countries.

Later this afternoon, I held fruitful discussions with H.E. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of Gabon. We discussed the importance of Africa processing its own raw materials instead of exporting them in their unprocessed form. I informed him about Uganda’s efforts in value addition, especially in agriculture, manufacturing and oil refinery development. I also shared our experience in wealth creation through commercial agriculture, ICT, services and industrialisation. I welcomed Gabon’s interest in working with Uganda in areas such as agriculture, military training and private sector development. Africa has everything required to transform itself if we prioritise production, patriotism & cooperation.
