Over fears of participating in the upcoming "Yes Vote Referendum," Guinean authorities returned 56 Sierra Leoneans from Dubreka in the Kindia Prefecture. The returnees were received at the Kambia Customs Post by Sierra Leonean authorities, vetted & reunited with their families.

To strengthen Maritime Security, #SierraLeone's Security Sector leadeship hosts the Joint Maritime Committee Study Day at the Foreign Service Academy, Tower Hill, Freetown. The event is supported by GoSL & the British High Commission & the ONS is providing overall coordination.

Visit of Guinean Military students to Sierra Leone- 25/06/24 Students from the Guinean Armed Forces Staff College have paid a courtesy visit to Sierra Leone. The Director of Border Security, #ONS Lismond T. C. Jones Esq. made a presentation on crossborder cooperation.

ECOWAS MISSION, AFRICAN UNION, UNITED NATIONS, & UNOWAS ENGAGE THE SECURITY SECTOR On Wednesday, 19th 06 '24, a delegation from the ECOWAS Mission, AU, UNOWAS & UN, headed by HE Dr. Fatoumata J. Tamba Jan, the former VP of the Gambia, had an engagement with the Security Sector.

New SLBC DG pays courtesy call on the NSCoord. On 5/06/24, the new Director General of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC) paid a courtesy call on the NSCoord at the ONS HQ, Freetown. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen collaboration between the two agencies.

SLP Weekly Press Briefing-18/04/24. On plans to subvert the state, suspects have been arrested & are being investigated. The Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) will on Saturday, 20/04/24, publicly destroy prohibited drugs, including kush, tramadol, & precursor chemicals.

ADVACE TEAM OF ECOWAS STANDBY FORCE MEETS WITH THE ONS/CISA - 6/02/24 An advance team of the ECOWAS Standby Force met with the ONS & CISA. The purpose was to conduct an assessment of the security situation in the country in preparation for the deployment in #SL

As part of the efforts to strengthen personnel capacity, the leadership of #ONS organises in-house training presentations for the category of staff at Director, Deputy Director, & Team Lead Levels. The session, which commenced on 18/12/'23, will end on 28/12/'23.

24/11/23 - The ONS is currently holding a two-day Management Retreat to have a retrospect & deepening insight into the performance of the institution in 2023. The Retreat also aims at refocusing & improving the institution's service delivery in the coming years.

In order to identify & discuss practicable measures to address the menace of drug abuse in SL, on 8/11/23, the NSCoord convened a stakeholders meeting at ONS. Representing the NSCoord, the DNSCoord underscored the relevance of collaboration, coordination & cooperation.

Concerned over WAEC's withholding of 34,000 Candidates' WASSCE results & ameliorating the scourge of examination malpractice, the NSCoord & the Minister, MBSSE, held a stakeholders' meeting aimed at promptly addressing the problems. A committee will be constituted by the Minister

The National Security Coordinator, Office of National Security, Mr Abdulai Caulker, witnessed the opening ceremony of the dialogue between the Government of Sierra Leone and the All People's Congress Party at the Bintumani International Conference Centre.

The NSCoord met with the European Union Elections Observation Mission (EU-OM) & the European Union Delegation at the ONS. The team had preliminary discussions on the final elections Observation report, which was officially presented to the NSCoord.

The NSCoord, Mr. Abdulai Caulker engages Sea Cooperation Project (SEACOP V) stakeholders, including the West Africa Reg. Coord on 11/10/23. SEACOP V ends in two weeks to be followed by SEACOP VI & the Coordinator is in @sierraleone to evaluate the activities of the project.
