🚨 Omaha Walmart horror: 31-year-old Noemi Guzman stole a knife, abducted a 3-year-old boy at knifepoint, and slashed his face when cops arrived. Officers ordered her to drop it but she refused and cut the child. They opened fire, killing her on the spot. Little Cyler is out of surgery and expected to survive. Heroes in blue saved his life. 🙏🏾

When we talk what types of bikes and off-road vehicles that are legally allowed to be driven on public roads the purpose isn't to be the 'fun police'. The purpose is to prevent accidents like we had Saturday night near N 166th and Ida. A 15-year-old was hospitalized after his non street legal dirt bike was hit by a truck turning into a driveway. This accident serves as an important reminder for parents and young riders. Many dirt bikes and mini bikes are not street legal and are not designed to be operated on public roads. They are difficult for drivers to see and often lack basic safety equipment like lights, mirrors, and turn signals. When they are ridden on streets or near traffic, the risk of a serious crash increases significantly. Parents and guardians, please talk with your kids about where it is safe and legal to ride. We are grateful this situation was not worse and wish the young rider a speedy recovery. A quick conversation about safe riding today can prevent a tragedy tomorrow.

🏍 Information on Electric Bikes and Off-Road Vehicles 🚲 The DCSO receives many complaints about two-wheelers commonly referred to as “electric bikes”. There can be confusion regarding their street legality. We hope to clear up the confusion with this post. Many parents think their child’s ride is legal when it is actually not. Here’s an easy way to tell: ✅ A LEGAL electric bicycle has fully operative petals and cuts off power at a maximum of 28 miles per hour. Many times, what people call an electric bicycle is actually an electric motorcycle or dirt bike. Those are not street or sidewalk legal. Riding of an electric motorcycle, dirt bike, or other off-road vehicle is best done on private property with the owner’s permission. When ridden on roads or sidewalks, these types of non-street legal rides are subject to being impounded and parents of juvenile riders are subject to citations. Thank you for helping keep our roads safe!

The Dignified Transfer honors the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Sergeant First Class Noah Tietjens answered the call of duty, and these service members’ legacies will never be forgotten. I continue to pray for their families during this incredibly difficult time.
