Glad we could play a small part to help!
MisterDrProf@thedoctorprof

I'd like to thank those at @OPMarket_1 for gifting me plenty of site balance in order to clear out their burnt sienna stock before the trade deadline. I managed well over 10k items over the last week, and they basically sponsored the 1100 Golden Crate opening. Thank you guys.

Got to hand it to Psyonix. They know people are mad about trading being removed. So they go and add Lightning mqueen to the shop to distract you all. And everyone falls for it 😂

Removing trading doesn't affect gameplay. Okay, so how are new players going to get the fennec until it comes to the shop. Last time I checked, car bodies play quite a big part in gameplay.

Now that trading is going that means no one will be watching rlcs for the drops. Time will soon show that Rocket League is nowhere near a Tier 1 and the numbers were heavily inflated through drop farmers.

@TheGreenFireYT Killing trading isn't the most profitable choice, it kills off half their influencer and casual scene which goes and organically promotes their game. I don't expect them to understand a simple concept like this tho.

@OPMarket_1 I think the issue is that the executives higher up only care about the most profitable choice (even if that means killing a game in the process) because at the end of the day once trading is gone they can milk black diecis, alpha items, painted reapers anything in the shop.

The issue Epic Games faces is Rocket League producing Liquid cash. 1 million people could purchase the Nissan from the shop but if those credits already existed in the market then that doesn't mean they've made liquid money. They've created an unlimited supply of currency and wonder why its value is inflated and can be sourced for 1/3 of its price. Keep trading, but remove the ability to trade Credits ensures that every item that comes into the trading scene is purchased using only liquid cash. Yes, it's true that all credits that have entered the market at one point in time would of been purchased with liquid money. However, all these credits could have been bought in 2020, so naturally they expanded and spent more money until the liquid cash stops coming in. All of a sudden they can't sustain its growth. Removing trading is not the answer to the problem, it will only cause more damage. Figure out a way to keep credit inflation down, even if it's applying a tax on credit trades and this will solve the problem.

@HashJedi710 Shop and bps should use a similar pricing system to the stock market. The more people that buy the higher the price, no one buys then the price decreases, and eventually you'll hit a middle sweet spot.

@OPMarket_1 Yea but putting Tora in the item shop for 2000 credits is greedy af just because it's a black market. Epic games will never change

A simple solution for both Epic and trading. Remove the ability to trade credits. Here me out, Back in 2016 Xbox used to not have the ability to trade keys. Did it kill trading? No the complete opposite. Trading boomed. Users would instead find black markets to use as a pricing point. Instead, users would trade items for items. On Xbox before tradable keys Heatwaves were worth $50, after keys they became $12 and now worth $0.6. So by removing the ability to trade credits that means users would be forced to purchase credits from the store in order to buy from the shop, build blueprints and get the rocket pass. The issue is when you create an unlimited amount of credits you need a way to keep inflation down or else ultimately the value is going to far exceed the store price. This solution keeps everyone happy. It ensures Store sales and it would create a much higher value for items. Which in return is good for your item shop. Think about it, what makes a good item shop? An expensive item. What makes an expensive item? The price and demand are dictated by traders.

@itacelol But it would also ensure Epic gets what it needs. Liquid cash. 3rd parties are essential to every game since they reinvest back into the community and sponsors often they don't even make a profit on sponsors. Creating an economy is the only long-term solution.

@OPMarket_1 This would probably lead to a lot of 3rd party trading and such.

They could develop a bp drop system pricing algo, the price of the bp is dictated by the demand on how many people are willing to redeem the bp at x price. If the bp is really good everyone will build it and the craft cost will increase, eventually, it will come to a price where no one is willing to spend that and the craft price drops.

@OPMarket_1 yeah that is true but if rl is able to get rid of trading i dont believe they wont inflate the shit out of prices to force people to buy more credits. Not saying i dont like the idea bc i would love to keep trading

@rl_bbq How would it change anything? When the tw dominus came to the shop traders didn't sell they're dominus for under 1k credits. The key difference is people would be forced to buy from the store with real money while ensuring credits don't get inflated.

@OPMarket_1 although this is a good idea it cant happen bc otherwise whatever is in the shop for example black diecis for 10k credits or whatever they do, everyone who would sell will just sell for 80$ or whatever and undercut epic, i do like the idea and do think its a valid one
