Our 25th @olatheschools Dr. MLK Jr. Contest Celebration honored students voices and creativity in visual arts, written, and multimedia. It beautifully reflected the theme of love, from Dr. King’s words, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

📢 Attention all Spanish speaking families of high school students! The Olathe Hispanic Family College Planning Night on Monday, September 22nd from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Olathe West High School! This event is for all Spanish speaking high school students to learn more about college opportunities and will be offered in primarily Spanish. ⏰ The informational fair with local colleges and scholarship groups will be from 6:30 pm - 7:15 pm, then the Hispanic Development Fund will present on college planning and the application process. From 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm there will be a financial aid workshop for seniors. #OPSGrowHere

Tonight we had an outstanding @OPS_CultureSet Verified Culture Setters Connect and Collab where educators from all 6 of our cohorts came together to build relationships and share stories of their positive impacts of providing a sense of belonging for all. @olatheschools

🎉 175 seniors have been recommended for the Kansas Seal of Biliteracy for the 2024-2025 school year. This recommendation highlights students who have demonstrated functional proficiency in two or more languages. This year, students earned recognition in American Sign Language, Arabic, French, German, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish! #OPSMakeTodayCount
