Each year, student teams test their food science knowledge at the @IFT College Bowl. Congrats to our team, who finished a close second out of six at the midwest regional gathering at @MichiganState! We're looking forward to next year!

Several of our students who recevied a @TheJMSmuckerCo scholarship recently had the opportunity to visit their corporate headquarters. The all-day visit included facility tours, networking with recruiters and leaders, and learning more about internship and career opportunities.

Excited to share our newest edition of “Pass the Mic,” featuring world-class Ohio State scholars! Today we meet Dr. Martha Belury @OSUFoodScience professor and chair, whose research is uncovering new connections between dietary oils and conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Dr. Belury’s work has important implications for human health, and we’re proud she’s a Buckeye.

Congratulations to Dr. Mostafa Ali Abdelbary on his successful dissertation defense. Mostafa was advised by Dr. Ahmed Yousef.

Congrats to Jacob Ghosh Green, named a Rank 3 Newcomb Scholar Award recipient! Among the college’s highest undergraduate honors, the Newcomb Scholar Award recognizes outstanding academic achievement, honoring students with the highest cumulative GPA and scholarly dedication.

Amanda Adams and Paige Consolo represented #FoodScience at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum this week! Both students gained hands-on experience through our department’s FoodSURE program, where they built research skills and explored meaningful projects in food science.

As the first signs of spring arrive, so does one of our favorite traditions - research forum season! Several of our graduate students showcased their hard work at the #OhioState Hayes Research Forum, presenting both posters and oral presentations on their cutting‑edge projects.

Congrats to Laura Castellanos Suarez who received the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS) Biotechnology Division Student Excellence Award. Laura is a PhD student and is advised by Dr. Osvaldo Campanella.
