I love this recap. Thank you Prof Isiaq Oloyede for your service to motherland. Posterity will be kind to you and yours.
Elelu Ayoola@EleluAyoola

Dr Abdulkarim Ayopo Oloyede, now Professor Oloyede of Telecommunications Department at the University of Ilorin and son of former University of Ilorin Vice-Chancellor and immediate past JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, expressed confidence in a 2017 interview that his father would introduce major reforms at JAMB. Speaking shortly after Prof. Ishaq Oloyede assumed office as JAMB Registrar, Dr Abdulkarim said he had no doubt that his father would bring several innovations to the examination body. According to him, his confidence was based on personal experiences of how his father identified useful ideas elsewhere and successfully replicated them at the University of Ilorin. He recalled that while he was studying for his master’s degree in the United Kingdom, his university produced a simple T-shirt with the names of graduating students printed on it. His father asked him to buy one because he wanted to introduce the same idea at UNILORIN, which he later did. Dr Abdulkarim also gave another example from 2007, when he sat for an examination in Kaduna and received his result almost immediately. When he informed his father, Prof. Oloyede was surprised and asked how the result could be released so quickly. Dr Abdulkarim explained that it was a Computer-Based Test. His father then asked him to return to the examination centre so he could speak with the organisers. After speaking with them, Prof. Oloyede made further enquiries about the CBT system, which was said to have been organised by a London-based group. During a subsequent trip to London, he followed up on the matter and was later directed to the group’s representative in Lagos. By the time Dr Abdulkarim returned to Ilorin during his holiday, the University of Ilorin had already begun using Computer-Based Tests. Dr Abdulkarim noted that UNILORIN became one of the earliest Nigerian universities to conduct CBT examinations, adding that his father was someone who embraced technology and used innovation to advance education. He therefore believed that Prof. Oloyede would bring similar reforms and improvements to JAMB. People that have eyes and mind for good changes anywhere they see or hear of it, and always want to bring such to their environment or community are some of the best leaders and administrators to have at the helm of affairs. I make bold to say, if you make an Oloyede a governor or President, he will still adopt many good changes. This is what I expect from our leaders when they travel abroad, especially governors . There too many good things to see in developed countries that an average Nigerian can benefit from and they will forever be happy to have it. I'm glad he was able to prove some of his critics wrong then saying he studied Islamic Religion. His record at University of Ilorin was the biggest reason for his appointment as Jamb Registrar. He will be fondly remembered. I pray the new man, Prof Aina improves more on the legacy he left behind and attract more changes to the institution. ©Elu Ọmọ Elu

Ngbo Obi @PeterObi ,in what capacity are you doing photo shoot with SA officials? Akinwunmi has offered you his one billion dollars advice. Stop fretting away your time!!! Agwụla m okwu, m na-apụ.
Akinwumi@Big_marvis

WHY PETER OBI LIKES TO CHASE POLITICAL SHADOWS. See, I write these things on Obi's style of politics not because I hate him. Does Kenneth Okonkwo hate him? No one can say that. I don't hate him but this is just how politics is. I write about him because he's a candidate that has the potential to lead the opposition for years. And if possible bring about many changes in so many ways using the opposition. But he's throwing it away and everyone ends up accusing Tinubu. I wonder how Tinubu has become a wizard that manipulates adults to make wrong political choices. Now this season is a serious season and candidates must focus on what matters "only". Yesterday Peter Obi Visited Cape Town, Meets South African Ministers And Political Leaders Over Challenges Facing Nigerians In The Country; Advocates Stronger Regional Collaboration And Peaceful Nigeria-South Africa Relations. Now, to the Instagram-loving followers, this movement made a lot of sense. But what political value does it have for him? I have been following his movements in the last one week, all he's been doing had been: - Naming ceremony - Visited Nursing school - Visited one other country and held meeting with some Nigerians most of whom were Igbos. - Visited South Africa to meet some Nigerians. And if you watched the video from the airport, the crowd were speaking mainly igbo. In the last one week, there was.. 1. No meeting with party Excos. 2. No meeting with party supporters as it concerns building state structures. 3. No meeting with certain gatekeepers of the various states to present your plans for them. 4. No effort at reactivating and mobilizing the Obidient movement by holding a convention or even an online conference. 5. No effort at reaching out to the North or any other place. Now compare him with Tinubu. 1. He is currently in Lagos and has secured victory at the primaries. 2. Yesterday you saw the massive turnout at the primaries? 3. Last night and today he's going to be meeting with so many leaders in Lagos and the South West. 4. He's uniting and mobilizing his party. Compare the two candidates and their actions. Which one is truly pursuing victory? Tinubu can afford to be relaxed because he's the incumbent and has 60/40 chances of winning. But Obi is now the one relaxing and engaging in acts that add nothing to him in the elections. Okay you're visiting the leaders of Cape Town in what capacity exactly? Of course they'll meet with you and take pictures but they know your coming has no diplomatic value for them. And that's wasting the small time you don't already have. Why meet with a crowd that's mainly Igbos? That way you're presenting yourself as "Igbo candidate" not a "Nigerian candidate". The consequences will be alienation by voters from other ethnic groups. Why not for now focus on being around crowds of the Yorubas, Hausa, Fulani and other ethnic groups? All these professional advice una no pay me for am o. But ah dey give a for free sake of make Naija move forward. My only anger is that, after Obi and Atiku have wasted their time they'll now begin to cry "rigging.... rigging... rigging" on election day. I suggest that Mr Peter Obi hires strategists that will plan his moves and operations. Honestly, the places he goes to and the things he does have no connection with what he's chasing.

...hnmmmm,can we sincerely get serious for once!
Son of David@DrOlusesan

LET'S GET SERIOUS In all states and at community level, security around schools, places of worship, markets, and everywhere children assemble ought to have changed. One immediate strategy could be putting at least a minimum barrier to ingress and egress. Schools may not need to have arms to confront kidnappers, but they shouldn't be strolling in casually to abduct kids and their communities should be able to throw in blockage on their way out until a superior armed response arrive. Simple, if you go in, you are not going out. In the hinterlands, we still have public schools fenced with planks. Barbed perimeter fencing up to 10 feet high with rigid gates should be treated as a national emergency. Many village schools are situated next to dense forests. Why not shut some of them down and merge two or three township schools into one mega school designed like a fortress? Communities that insist their schools must remain where they are should equally agree to setting up all-round vigilante watch teams. No school in immediate proximity to border towns should be allowed to operate boarding facilities until further notice. All schools should have a master blaster alarm or orher bell-sounding alternative means of announcing distress. Klaxon’s Master Blaster is an extremely loud siren capable of producing an ear-splitting 127 dB. In open-field conditions like farms or large estates, the wail can travel up to a mile at around 70 dB front. A Master Blaster costs less than ₦150k on Jiji. We still have classrooms where goats stroll in during lessons. Talking about kidnappers then becomes a stretch. The least we can do is ensure classrooms have iron doors and burglar-proof windows that allow students shelter-in-place during emergencies. Early morning resumption and closing hours remain the most vulnerable periods when brigands can ambush children on the road. These should be designated red-alert periods on weekdays, with active police patrols visibly trailing children commuting in large groups. In schools abduction, it is not impossible that insiders were involved. Isn’t it time we had a proper character-vetting registry for teachers? Beyond that, there should be mandatory yearly training on safeguarding, emergency response, and external security threats. I asked a couple of teachers in a secondary school what “Shelter-In-Place” means, and not a single one of them knew. Yet their governor has influencers posting motion pictures of him jogging in a marathon abroad as evidence of performance. Can we just get serious for once?

He should go to another political party if he no longer believes the party he represents. “Let him go and join another party. Zekeri Umoru, one of the suspected coup plotters, on Wednesday said discussions were held on switching off electricity supply to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to aid the alleged coup. Umoru, a Julius Berger Nigeria Plc employee in the Maintenance Department at the Presidential Villa, spoke in a video evidence played before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja. He said he warned that such an action would immediately trigger investigations and the detention of workers on duty if such action was carried out. The 4th defendant stated this, in the video, while being questioned by some members of the Special Investigative Panel (SIP) that first investigated the case. He alleged that Col. Mohammed Ma’aji, the alleged coup mastermind, offered him money, through Insp Ahmed Ibrahim, the 3rd defendant, to recruit between 18 and 19 persons working inside the Villa. Umoru said those to recruit include soldiers, officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Julius Berger staff. He also told the investigators that Ma’aji allegedly said he wanted access into the Presidential Villa and could achieve it “with force,” even if those recruited from inside decline to cooperate. He claimed that Insp Ibrahim later demanded N100 million from Ma’aji to facilitate the operation through an ambulance route into the Villa, but that Ma’aji refused on the grounds that the amount was excessive. He said Ma’aji insisted that he could still gain access into the Presidential Villa by force, though “there would be bloodshed.” Umoru said at a point, he became uncomfortable with the alleged plan and repeatedly attempted to return the money given to him. He said he felt that accessing the Presidential Villa “was not a child’s play.” He denied ever having access to the Villa’s solar power plant, despite allegations that he planned to sabotage electricity supply within the complex. On why he failed to immediately report the alleged discussions to authorities, Umaru claimed he was discouraged by Ibrahim, who allegedly asked him to delete messages and avoid contacting Ma’aji due to an ongoing audit in their office.

In summary @ChibuikeAmaechi and his likes do not have the brains for nation building. I rise!!!
LEGENDARY J.O.E@LegendaryJoe

I WILL CANCEL INDIGENESHIP IN NIGERIA - WE ARE ALL ONE In fairness to the former Governor of Rivers State and two-time Minister, he is not the first to walk this hypocritical path. He is not the pioneer of this peculiar tradition - where men who seek our votes suddenly discover that the antidote to Nigeria's afflictions is for the people to forget their roots, bury their ancestry, and perish their origin at the altar of nationality. There have been others. Including our own very son - the former Vice-President - who also parroted that shallow, empty, and thoroughly mundane theory: "I will cancel State of Origin." The same man who, when he aspired to lead this nation, thought it was politically creative to make a public spectacle of visiting the sleeping site of our Revered Prime Minister, Tafawa Balewa. Awolowo still lay peacefully in Ikenne. Our brother did not consider him worthy of such theatre. Because Ikenne would have been too Yoruba. And he was busy performing Nigeria. And while he was busy visiting the honoured dead, he forgot the living in his own homestead - Ikenne Remo. My own very town. Not a studio apartment in his name. Not a road paved to the family house. Not a hospital. Not a school. Nothing. He despised the memory of our dead patriots and showed contempt for his living kinsmen in the same breath. Little wonder his most memorable policy declaration as the number two citizen was the abolition of the people's origins. Eight years of the Yoruba slot in government - a total waste to his heritage. Shall I Begin? Now these men owe us something before the rhetoric continues. They owe us data. Statistics. Peer-reviewed studies. Empirical evidence. How precisely does the removal of indigeneship cure our corruption? How does it fix our infrastructure? Neutralise our security menace? Absorb our unemployed millions? Rhetoric is not an answer. Confusion dressed in a suit is not a policy. Vacuous propaganda is not governance - and it is always promoted most loudly by those who have no better alternative to the status quo. Then Rotimi Amaechi took it a notch higher, proposing the removal of Federal Character from our constitution entirely. Let us reason together. Is Rotimi suggesting that all 36 states of this federation will one day have governors of Northern extraction? All of them? That the entire cabinet of the Presidency will be Yoruba? That an Emeka will one day be Alaafin of Oyo, and a Babajide become Sultan of Sokoto? That the President and his Vice will be a Chidi and Ngozi - and all the Principal Officers of the National Assembly hail from Ogbomoso? Or is he proposing, while he is at it, that we eradicate the languages too? The dialects? The indigenous names carried from generation to generation? Let him say so plainly. Even God is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, not of Egba or Kanuri - The Almighty recognized tribal identity. Even in heaven, there are tribes. Our leaders must abandon these pedestrian, populist theatrics and bring us practical, realistic, intelligent medicine for this country's ailments - or vacate the stage for the men and women who actually possess the brains for nation-building. The polity has no more patience for mundane rants dressed as vision. Identity is not the enemy of unity. Amnesia is not nation-building. And a man who cannot celebrate where he is from cannot be trusted to build anywhere worth going. Let me hang it here for now - Is this my most brutal article yet? Good Morning, Severally.
