Over the Reality just hit another major milestone in the AI era.
We have now surpassed 200,000 mappings in our dataset. 🎉
These are not just images. They are high-quality 3D maps generated from the mapping activity of our global community, which has produced more than 94M images of real-world locations so far.
The dataset also includes 900TB+ of spatial data that can power Visual AI models, Robotics VPS for real-world navigation and positioning, XR VPS for precise spatial anchoring and AR experiences, Spatial Computing applications, Digital Twins, and the next generation of real-world AI infrastructure.
In just the past 2 weeks, our dataset grew by +17,955 mapped locations.

• How exactly are rewards calculated?
Rewards are based on the quality of your mapping and the coverage of the area you capture. At the moment, our beta testers have an average 95% approval rate on submitted mappings.
• What determines the "$18/hour"?
The $18/hour is the maximum potential rate. Rewards can vary depending on the country you are mapping in. In this beta, 1 mapping session lasts 15 minutes, so 4 completed sessions equal 1 hour of payout.
• Is it already available globally?
It is currently in Beta, and access is being rolled out through the application form: forms.gle/QgP61kpAfNgMR4…
• Does this work in Switzerland?
Yes, Switzerland is supported.

$18/hour for going on a walk?
That’s what @OVRtheReality claims you can earn by capturing 360° footage with an Insta360 camera while walking through cities.
The idea:
Walk through streets, malls, stations.
Record the environment.
Upload the footage.
The platform turns it into 3D spatial data to map the real world.
If it works as described, this is basically #DePIN applied to spatial mapping.
The concept itself isn’t entirely new though.
Projects like @silencioNetwork already showed that everyday movement can generate valuable infrastructure data — in their case noise data.
This looks like the 3D mapping version of that model.
Before I buy an Insta360 just for this, a few questions:
• How exactly are rewards calculated?
• What determines the "$18/hour"?
• Is it already available globally?
• Does this work in Switzerland?
But the bigger pattern is interesting.
More and more networks are turning normal human activity into data infrastructure.
