@rioferdy5 Social media has completely changed football announcement culture. As the leaks and rumours grow, anticipation is lost as supporters genuinely know what is coming. Great for reach and engagement… but it’s definitely killed some of the magic of “announcement day”.

Under the previous setup, it often felt like Nwakali was caught between roles. At times you could see the quality instantly the touch, the ability to slow the game down, pick a pass, play through pressure. Then other games completely passed him by physically and defensively. Now Daniel Stendel changes the conversation a bit. If Stendel wants energy, aggressive pressing and quick transitions, Nwakali either adapts fast or becomes a luxury player that struggles to fit the intensity. But if Stendel can simplify his role and put runners around him, there’s a player there who could absolutely dominate League One games technically

Keep. There’s definitely a player in Charlie Lennon. Feels like one of those situations where he’s not really had a fair crack at it yet before the loan talk starts appearing. With Daniel Stendel coming back in, I’d much rather see Lennon kept around for pre-season and given a proper opportunity to impress in a system that might actually suit him. Young players can disappear into the loan cycle far too easily at Barnsley. One move turns into two, then suddenly they’re forgotten about before they’ve even had a genuine chance at Oakwell. He’s got attributes worth working with. I’d be patient with this one.

I honestly wouldn’t be against Brad Collins returning to Oakwell. He knows the club, understands League One and stylistically fits the aggressive, front-foot football Daniel Stendel wants to play. Comfortable in possession, proactive off his line and still a very capable shot-stopper at this level.
