As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, in the coming days, I will formally and publicly endorse the candidate I intend to vote and campaign for. My decision will be based on careful consideration, patriotism, competence, vision and what I genuinely believe is best for the development, unity, stability and future of our great country. When the time comes, I will present the convincing reasons behind my position, with the hope of contributing positively to the democratic process and encouraging issue-based political engagement. So help me God!

Dear Festus, I honestly do not understand this obsession that you and other members of your @OfficialAPCNg cult appear to have with all things related to "3rd-placed" Peter Obi. I do not see ANY of you, including your leader, obsessing over the "2nd-placed Atiku" in the same way, and I find it really strange because your cult's branches, @inecnigeria, and your operatives in the Nigerian Judiciary made declarations that make this behaviour completely illogical. I would have thought that the person that came second would be more of a threat, but your behaviour clearly indicates that you regard @PeterObi as a bigger threat to your ambitions to remain in office post-2027. Please explain this to us. 200 Million curious minds want to know. Warmest Regards, Babatunde O. Gbadamosi

THE NDC AND ITS ‘419’ DECISION. The decision of NDC to zone its Presidential ticket to the south for JUST ONE TERM (emphasis on ‘one term’) is an audacious attempt to hoodwink Nigerians. It reminds us of the undertaking by Jonathan in 2011 to serve just one full term and quit. So, what happens if Peter Obi changes his Party, assuming he wins, or as leader of the NDC he gets the NEC of the Party to reverse the decision, if in the unlikely event he wins? This is an insult on the sensibilities of Nigerians; it smacks of outright desperation and actually accentuates the dilemma of the opposition a whole in the 2027 Presidential elections. It is just a joke taken too far; it is nothing but political 419.

I have just busted NDC and their useless convention. They're claiming the whole was filled to the brim with Nigerians but that's a lie. My mesopotamia agent who monitored the situation just reported to me that the people that attended the convention are refugees rented from the Strait of Hormuz. Just look at the shape of the head of that guy in the middle. 😱

I like how Obi treated Reno today at the airport. The usual Obi would’ve hugged Reno, hold the handshake for some secs, but all didn’t happen today. As I always say, I like this 2026 version of Obi. Nigeria will be OK!

Our Candidate For 2027 is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In view of recent political events, it has become necessary and expedient for us, Ambassadors Designate Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, to state categorically that we believe it is in the best interest of the stability, unity, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and in keeping with the Gentleman's Agreement, which ushered in our Fourth Republic in 1999, after sixteen years of turbulence and political instability, for there to be a balanced and orderly rotation of power in Nigeria, between the North and the South. We further affirm that, having completed and made full and unfettered use of two terms of four years, under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, Northern Nigeria, with the support of patriots from Southern Nigeria, had its full, uninterrupted, and undisturbed tenure in this power rotation arrangement. And that, after that tenure, it is the turn of Southern Nigeria to take and retain the baton of power for a commensurate period of time, to wit, two terms of four years each. As such, we view it as unpatriotic and inimical to the unity, equilibrium, and progress of Nigeria for anyone to even conceive of power returning to Northern Nigeria after only one term of four years, during which it was domiciled in Southern Nigeria. And not just in Southern Nigeria, but in the specific hands of the man who was the chief architect for the return of power to the North in 2015. We are of the opinion that one good turn deserves another and that one good term deserves another. Therefore, we make bold to state that our candidate and choice for the 2027 Presidential Elections is His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has, in the last three years, delivered 12 cycles of GDP growth and trade surpluses, while adding $67 billion to our economy and making Nigeria the sixth largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025. We urge the political class, to note that the reason Switzerland has been stable, peaceful, and prosperous for the last 211 years is because that Alpine nation wisely introduced power sharing amongst its multiethnic population and has not seen any conflict since 1815, and particularly since 1848 when its power-sharing policy took root. Finally, we call on all Nigerians, irrespective of region, religion, and communion, to join us and queue behind the present Presidency and future candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which has seen infrastructural efforts to unite Nigeria, including the ₦15 trillion 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the ₦13 trillion 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and bridging the gap between the Southeast and the entire North through the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a cost of an estimated $750 million. If we all extend the right hand of fellowship to President Bola Tinubu, we will, with the help of God, collectively see Nigeria become a $1 trillion economy by 2031. To re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a task that must be done! May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and may Nigeria prosper under President Bola Tinubu. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Ambassador Designate to South Africa, Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, Ambassador-Designate to Mexico.

Esosa Iyawe, you shouldn't have defected from the APC to the NDC. You should have stayed in the APC and fought for the ticket, whether you got it or not. It doesn't make sense to me that you believe the Obidients will do from top to bottom again, even if you secure the NDC ticket.

It gives me pleasure to announce the fact that Mr. President has graciously approved my posting as Nigeria's Ambassador-Designate to South Africa. This came a few days after the initial posting to Germany was announced and after I made a formal representation to the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, that I was not comfortable with Germany for a number of personal reasons and given the fact that I had lived in Europe most of my life I would prefer to go to South Africa which is a country that I had never been to and for which I have so much interest. I also expressed the fact that I would rather serve in a country that shares some of my convictions, beilefs and values when it comes to world affairs, that has the biggest economy in Africa, that has closer ties to Nigeria and that is more proximate to my political thinking when it comes to foreign affairs and a pan African vision. I therefore made an application for a redeployment to South Africa two days after the initial announcement was made and I am pleased to say that after the then Foreign Minister (H.E. Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar) heard my reasons he considered them favourably after which he conveyed the request to Mr. President who graciously approved it. I will be eternally grateful to Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this favourable consideration. I also take this opportunity to thank Senator Sam Enang, who was originally posted to South Africa and who was pleased to go to Germany instead, to agree for a straight swap. I take this opportunity to once again confirm that this was my choice and that Germany NEVER rejected me, which was a fake report that was published in an irresponsible online magazine that thrives on sensationslism, lies and blackmail. Their story was not only irresponsible and insulting but was also a total and complete fabrication based on hearsay, beer parlour talk and cheap gossip and designed to embarass my goodself, the Federal Government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Worse still they listed a number of clearly outlandish and absurd reasons for this purported and fake "rejection" which they patched together and concocted reflecting the malevolent condition of their perverse imagination. Our findings after a preliminary investigation was that the story was not only sponsored but was also written with malicious intent and designed to hurt and destroy my career and bring me into both national and international opprobium and disrepute. We have reported the online magazine and the individuals that are behind it with a petition to the relevant security agencies for necessary action. I have also briefed my lawyers to take up the matter and we shall be suing the them in a civil action for defamation. What actually happened was that the day an "agreement" was sent to South Africa by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was on March 13th, it was leaked to them and they falsely and maliciously reported that it was sent only because I had been formally rejected by Germany which they knew to be false. They attempted to establish falsehood as fact and this is unacceptable and far below the par of professionalism and proper journalism. If there was such a formal rejection I challenge them to bring the proof with documentary evidence. I repeat this never happened and I urge the media to be far more circumspect with such reports. This statement has been made necessary due to the concern that many of my friends and loved ones have expressed over the matter and in an attempt to set the record straight. God-willing, I look forward to serving as Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa, a nation that I admire and respect given its remarkable and inspiring history. (Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Ambassador-Designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to South Africa)
