Today, Sunday, October 5, 2025, I participated as a guest speaker at the first Ubuntu Africa Youth Assembly webinar series of the Global Peace Foundation under the organisation's Africa Renaissance Initiative. The event took place at the Global Peace Foundation headquarters in Washington, DC. I interacted with many young people across the continent who asked insightful questions about ethical leadership, accountability, good governance, and youth active participation in sustainable development and human flourishing. The Ubuntu Africa Youth Assembly aims to foster and strengthen ethical leadership, empowering African youth to become valuable actors in African affairs now and in the future through intentional engagement among themselves and with African elders who possess proven moral authority. It also aims to provide a continental platform where African youth and elders engage in ethical leadership formation and intergenerational dialogue, inspired by Ubuntu values, and foster collaboration for Africa's sustainable future. The webinar provided me with the opportunity to share ideas on continental transformation, grounded in the ideal of Ubuntu, "I am because we are." Collectively, we can build a better Africa when we apply the fundamental values of Ubuntu, caring for one another, living for others and our society, and dignifying our most valuable asset: the millions of young people across the continent. -PO

Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump. On behalf of my family and the Obidients Movement, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States of America. Your victory is a testament to the resilience of democracy and the enduring will of the American people. It is my hope that your presidency will be marked by policies that foster global stability, economic growth, and strengthened international partnerships, particularly between the United States and Africa. As you assume this great responsibility, I urge you to champion the values of unity, equity, and justice, which are the bedrock of sustainable progress. The world watches with anticipation, and we are optimistic that your leadership will usher in a new era of cooperation and mutual respect among nations. I am sincerely delighted at the reappointment of my very dear elder sister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation for a second term, effective from 1 September 2025. The very heartwarming news was just announced by the General Council of the organization. Iweala's admirable character, impressive resume, and litany of achievements in public office stand her out as a competent leader for such a noble organization. With her very visible contributions to our national development and the global community, she remains one of Nigeria's most valuable human capital exports to the world, a symbol of hard work and excellence, and a beacon of hope and inspiration for the younger generation. As she is set to continue to pilot the affairs of this global organization for another 4-year tenure, I wish her more health, strength, and wisdom to continue to stand for what is right. Her rise to greatness through productive contribution to societal development stands as a lesson to us in Nigeria; first, as leaders, who must understand that leadership is a responsibility to care for the people; and then as a people, who must understand that our leadership recruitment process must be based on character, competence, capability and integrity. Congratulations once again to you @NOIweala A New Nigeria remains POssible. -PO

Yesterday, Wednesday, 13th of November 2024, I, alongside other esteemed Nigerians, attended the launch of "The Noble Academic and Patriot: A Biography of Emeritus Professor Akinjide Osuntokun OON (The Baaptian of Oyo Kingdom)" at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event brought together a distinguished assembly, including Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary-General; Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church; and Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State, among many other notable figures. In my remarks, I emphasized the significance of celebrating a professor and academic today. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Professor Akinjide Osuntokun personally, the glowing testimonials from the various speakers, including his students, underscored the profound impact of his work. I wholeheartedly join in acknowledging his legacy, recognizing that education, which is at the core of Professor Osuntokun's contributions, is precisely what our society needs. This is what we should celebrate, not the glorification of thuggery and mediocrity as we have it today. May his dedication continue to inspire Nigerians to strive for excellence, uphold integrity, and pursue unity, rejecting the forces that promote mediocrity and violence. A new Nigeria is POssible! -PO

People like Asari Dokubo say they have known Tinubu for decades yet don’t know him. 2023 they thought they had a place with him at the table when in actual fact they were part of the menu. Tinubu wants only those he has empowered around him. People whom without him they would never have amounted to anything. Also, people that will only stay within the level he has put them. They must not dare to have any ambition besides what Tinubu has given them. He will destroy whatever power you had before him and look for those that will replace you and kiss his ring and be totally and absolutely enslaved to him. An enemy Tinubu can draw close and empower is more useful to Tinubu than an ally who had any semblance of power that it wasn’t due to Tinubu. You see all these billionaires that were made without Tinubu’s help especially those that owe what they have to Obasanjo, I pity them especially the ones that think he is their friend. My advice to them is watch your backs like hawks. But then, what do I know 🤷‍♂️
